How to Get Rupees in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Make Me A Sandwich, Link
Beyond simply foraging for food, cooking and selling prepared meals can be a lucrative endeavor. Transforming raw ingredients into gourmet dishes—or even unintentionally creating “Dubious Meals”—offers a consistent stream of Rupees. The Tabantha Tundra, rich in moose, wolves, and foxes, provides an excellent hunting ground. Slaughter these beasts, collect their meat, and then unleash your culinary creativity. Whether you follow a precise recipe or improvise, selling the resulting meals will replenish your rupee supply.
Support President Hudson
Interacting with Addison, a character holding a sign for President Hudson, unlocks mini-games. These consist of keeping the sign aloft. Use Ultrahand to manipulate the environment—rocks, logs, or even your crafted structures—to provide the sign with secure support. Once the sign stabilizes, tell Addison to release it. Success grants you a reward: at least 20 Rupees and perhaps some food as a bonus.
Help Thy Neighbor
Acts of kindness, though often selfless, can lead to financial gain. Many NPCs in Hyrule need assistance, and often these requests are linked to a reward. The specific amount of Rupees gained varies from task to task, but whether for a tangible payout or simply a sense of accomplishment, helping others will contribute to your Rupee collection.
Mine Ores to Rake In the Big Bucks
Exploring caves and wells will invariably unearth various ores, each offering varying financial returns. Topaz and Opal are readily available and sell for 80 and 30 Rupees, respectively. Rubies and Sapphires, while slightly harder to find, fetch 110 and 150 Rupees. Diamonds, the most valuable ore, sell for 500 Rupees. However, diamonds are best kept for upgrading weapons and armor. Prioritize selling Topaz and Opal for rapid Rupee accumulation, especially given their abundant presence.
Boop the Blupees… With An Arrow to the Head!
Blupees, elusive blue rabbits, can be found roaming various open areas in Hyrule, but are generally spotted in vast grassy plains or near caves. Their unique characteristic—their tendency to panic and drop Rupees when shot—makes them a valuable target for archers. The more you shoot them, the more Rupees they drop. The best method for taking them by surprise is to patiently approach from a distance, crouch to remain hidden, then launch an attack from a position high enough that the attack triggers slow-motion.
