Black Ops 6/Warzone Patch: Big Weapon Changes

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 December 10 Update Patch Notes

GLOBAL

Treyarch and Raven Software’s December 10 update for Black Ops 6 and Warzone introduces significant changes, particularly to weapon play. The core focus revolves around improving weapon stability and headshot effectiveness in Multiplayer. The patch also contains adjustments to aiming mechanics, maps, and modes within both titles, and some targeted Zombies fixes.

MULTIPLAYER

  • Weapon Motion: Significant reductions (30-75%) in visual recoil, turn sway, and gun kick are implemented across all weapons, particularly impactful on full-auto weapons and higher magnification optics. These changes aim to enhance player stability and control while aiming down sights (ADS).
  • Aiming Idle Sway Delay: The patch refines the aiming idle sway delay for all weapons, improving consistency. Sniper rifles now see a complete removal of initial idle sway, addressing past issues of reduced sway reduction.
  • Maps & Modes: Hacienda map spawn points are adjusted. Face-off and 10v10 Moshpit modes see increased score limits for more engaging gameplay. Prop Hunt mode now has faster prop speeds, a shorter round time, and has been enabled in Private Match.
  • Headshot Damage: Headshot damage is adjusted to increase the effectiveness of headshots on full-auto primary weapons. This change is not uniformly applied; SMGs will experience increased range instead of time-to-kill adjustments to retain a balanced feel in close-quarters combat.
  • Melee: Melee weapons have improved attack speeds, particularly those designed for two-hit kills, to enhance the satisfaction and feeling of unique combat encounters.
  • Equipment & UI: Frag grenade inner radius damage is reduced to allow for more survival with Flak Jacket, and UI issues related to minimap display and Finishing Move previews are resolved.
  • Graphics & Stability: Various graphical and stability issues have been addressed.

ZOMBIES

  • Maps: Citadelle des Morts map fixes include addressing issues with AFK warnings and loading after obtaining specific objects. Issues involving disconnections and squad re-joining are also addressed.
  • Weapons: Blueprint weapon attachment changes have been implemented.
  • Stability: Various stability improvements have been integrated.

RANKED PLAY

Adjustments

  • Buy Stations: Buy stations in Warzone Ranked Play are now fixed to specific locations each match, mirroring the unranked modes. This is a step toward minimizing randomness and encouraging players to develop map awareness.

FIELD UPGRADES

Adjustments

  • Munitions & Utility Boxes: These boxes are updated to provide the maximum possible ammunition for the player’s currently equipped primary and secondary weapons. The boxes no longer provide ammunition for other weapon types.

WEAPONS

Adjustments

These changes specifically apply to Black Ops 6 weapons.

Weapon Motion: Reductions in visual recoil, turn sway, and gun kick across all weapons to promote greater stability in movement and aiming. The reduction varies depending on the weapon class.

Aiming Idle Sway: Adjustments to aiming idle sway mechanics improve consistency across all weapon types, offering improved responsiveness and feel. Sniper Rifles in particular now feature a complete removal of initial idle sway.

BUG FIXES

  • Warzone: Fixes include addressing the Battle Royale leaderboard display issue, the Grenadier perk issue, and the “Loading player stats” loop.
