A new event is starting in World of Warcraft. Multiple bosses are attacking at the same time – can you withstand this pressure?
If there is one area where World of Warcraft is particularly good, it is in the design of exciting dungeon and raid bosses. For this, it is also often envied by other MMORPGs. The developers have apparently recognized this strength and therefore thought: How about a new game mode in which the bosses are the focus?
That’s exactly what the “Cunning Duos” event is, which is playable from today (04.06.2025).
Where can I participate in Cunning Duos?
Registration for Cunning Duos is available in several locations. Most notably in the current capital city of Dornogal, but you can also queue from Stormwind or Orgrimmar.
How does that work?
In a large arena, you and your party can fight bosses – several at the same time. Two (or more) bosses want to make your life hell at the same time, so I have to coordinate the overlap of several boss mechanics well while beating the bosses’ health points to 0.
Depending on how fast and flawless you played, there is a score at the end, which you can then use to show off to other characters.
At the beginning there are 4 different bosses, but more are unlocked in the course of the event, so that at the end there is a pool of a total of 10 bosses that will really heat you up. The bosses include:
- Baron Silverlaine (Shadowfang Castle)
- Broggok (Blood Cauldron)
- Chrono-Lord Epoch (Purification of Stratholme)
- Foe Reaper 5000 (Deadmines)
- Glubtok (Deadmines)
- Hydromantine Thespia (Steam Chamber)
- Lord Walden (Shadowfang Castle)
- Makgineer Steamrigger (Steam Chamber)
- Rattlegore (Scholomance)
- Watchkeeper Garlgomar (Hellfire Bulwark)
In addition to the bosses, there are some additional effects. For example, you will always find bombs in the arena that you can hurl at enemies. If you defeat them with them, you get bonus points for your rating.
Even though the event is visually a bit reminiscent of the Brawler’s Guild, you are in a separate area with your own group. So you don’t have to have stage fright because other heroes are watching you all the time – you have the whole room to yourself and can be defeated as often as you want in the most embarrassing way without being exposed to the server disgrace afterwards.
What rewards are there?
Since this event is primarily a fun event, the rewards are also mainly cosmetic. Over the course of the event weeks, there are large quests that you can complete and unlock a toy, a pet, and a mount. The podium toy is particularly interesting, as you can upgrade it to show your average item level, for example.
How long does Cunning Duos last?
The event is only temporary and lasts for 6 weeks. This means that you can try to chase the highest possible high score until July 15. By the way, this also means that the next patch 11.1.7 will be released during the event, which will bring some new features and special features.
