The next patch of World of Warcraft is in the starting blocks and is already ready. In a few days it will start. We have all the info.

Patch 11.1.7 is the next, small content update for World of Warcraft and brings many small improvements and new features. Now Blizzard has finally announced the release date – and it is much earlier than many expected. It starts in just 2 weeks.

When is the release date of patch 11.1.7? The release date for patch 11.1.7 is on June 18, 2025 – around 2 weeks from now. As usual, the patch will arrive a day earlier on the US realms, which is due to the different dates for the maintenance work.

The Big Features of Patch 11.1.7

Campaign in the Arathi Highlands

Some minor skirmishes between the Horde and the Alliance threaten to degenerate into larger battles in the Arathi Highlands. Well-known characters such as Faerin, Danath and Gey’arah try to contain the conflicts – but whether they will succeed or whether the Horde and Alliance will once again come close to war is something you will have to experience for yourself.

The 1-button rotation

In recent years, World of Warcraft has brought more and more improvements and possibilities to make the game accessible to players who struggle with limitations or do not enjoy certain game systems. Therefore, in Patch 11.1.7 there is an option that no longer requires you to memorize complex rotations.

The “Single-Button Assistant” ensures that you only have to press a single button repeatedly and still use a variety of your abilities in a meaningful way.

However, this option also comes with a small disadvantage, as you have an increased global cooldown – so there is a little more time between using abilities. This ensures that players will be more powerful without this setting.

For those who don’t want to deal with complex rotations, this is a good way to play different content that they wouldn’t otherwise enjoy.

Lorewalking – The Story of Warcraft Reexplained

Another new feature is “Lorewalking”. Here you can talk to Lorewalker Cho, who will accompany you through various quest lines from the history of World of Warcraft. The focus is on the stories of important characters, such as the Lich King or Xal’atath.

At Cho’s side, you’ll experience these old quests bundled and in one piece, while Cho gives you additional context. At the end of each series, there are a few new missions every now and then that summarize what has been shown or even open up new story possibilities.

At the beginning there are 3 stories that you can experience:

  • Xal’atath
  • The Ethereals
  • The Lich King

In addition, another story was found in datamining that deals with the elven races. However, it is not yet clear when it will be released.

Overloaded Depth

The depths get a new coat of paint, because some depths can be “overloaded” from now on. You get a new, powerful belt that grants special special effects during the depths. In return, however, new enemies, traps and other dangers await you in the depths, which in turn reward you with better equipment.

Whether the lows will remain worthwhile for the rest of Season 2 remains to be seen – at least solo fans should get a little more variety.

What else is in the patch? Apart from the highlights, the timewalking system will also be expanded. 6 dungeons from “Battle for Azeroth” join the rotation and entice with new rewards.

There will also be the event of the “Greedy Emissary” at a later date, where all classes can earn new coloring of the HD variant of the Tier 2 set. At the same time, it should also be much easier to get rare, classic rewards during this event. Whether this only applies to transmog or also includes coveted mounts also remains to be seen.
