To dare to start in World of Warcraft, the optimal time has just come. We look at why it’s worth getting started now.

With a lifespan of almost 21 years, World of Warcraft is one of the largest and oldest MMORPGs on the market – and certainly the game that each and every one of us has heard of. Whether you’re a new player or a seasoned veteran, many turn to services to Buy WOW Gold and enhance their in-game experience.

  • But hasn’t the train for getting started in WoW left a long time ago?
  • If you haven’t played yet, can you still participate?
  • Isn’t it all much too complex and big, don’t you have to buy dozens of addons?

We want to go over the most important reasons why WoW is in excellent shape right now to finally venture into the world of Azeroth. We’ll dispel a few myths and explain why it’s never been easier to get a foothold in World of Warcraft.

World of Warcraft – Why now?

There are several reasons why the time to enter World of Warcraft is now better than ever before in the history of the game.

The best state of the endgame ever: Especially the endgame of the game, i.e. everything you can do at the maximum level, is more diverse and round than ever before in the history of the MMORPG. Whether you’re interested in raids with many people, dungeons, or solo content, everything is open and offers reasonable progression. For really good equipment, it is no longer necessary to prepare for raids many evenings a week. You can also succeed alone or in small groups, and a variety of content offers something for every playstyle.

Good story start: The story of World of Warcraft can seem relatively confused and confusing because it is often told in bite-sized chunks. The addons are often only loosely connected to each other and the relevant characters change often. With the current addon cycle “World Soul Saga” this is different. The War Within was the prelude to a three-part epic that will soon be continued with “Midnight”. If you get in now, you can comfortably play the story of The War Within and then continue almost seamlessly with Midnight.

Preparation for housing: In a few months, the biggest feature of all will start in World of Warcraft: Player Housing. This has been demanded by many fans for 2 decades and finally appears with the new expansion “Midnight”. Even the first preview of the feature makes it clear that it fulfills all dreams and far exceeds the expectations of the community. It could be the most extensive housing ever in an MMORPG and even outshine the grandiose role model WildStar.

Level event with a lot of equipment: The event “Winds of Mysterious Luck” is currently active. With this you not only get more experience points, but also find additional rewards in many enemies. This ensures that you wear solid equipment that is appropriate for your level at all times. This way, the XP accumulates even faster and more efficiently, so that you can quickly advance to the endgame.

In addition, you can also use the coming days to collect an impressive collection of mounts or transmog templates so that your character always has the perfect look. The event runs until July 29 and gives you increased drop chances for mounts and transmog rewards. So it’s worth diving deep into the variety that WoW has to offer.

A nice side effect: If you “farm” old dungeons and raids for the rewards, you earn a nice sum of gold along the way, which makes your entry into World of Warcraft a little easier.

Isn’t that mega expensive and you have to buy a lot?

If you look at the list of addon releases, you can already hear your own wallet crying. There have been a total of 10 addons for WoW so far – and you have to buy them all?

No, you don’t have to. For World of Warcraft, you pay a monthly subscription that costs between 11 and 13 euros.

Hint: In theory, the subscription fees can also be paid with earned in-game gold and the purchase of a “WoW” token. But for newcomers, this is rather unrealistic – and would probably also limit the fun of the game, as a large part of the time would then have to be spent just farming gold.

In addition to the subscription, only the latest expansion needs to be purchased. Currently, this would be “The War Within”, in a few months it will change to “Midnight”.

So the cost of WoW is 13 euros per month and about every two years you have to buy a new expansion for 50 € – 60 €.

If you consider that some people have over 720 days of pure playing time in WoW – over 17,000 hours – then you can obviously spend a lot of time in the game and are well entertained for the money invested.

What is not going so well right now?

Even though World of Warcraft is in very good shape right now, there are still a few construction sites.

Leveling up in particular is difficult for new accounts – without the currently running event “Winds of Mysterious Luck” – because you are forced to level up the first character in “Dragonflight” and you can reach an item bottleneck there that slows down progress. This is currently being corrected by the ongoing level event, but Blizzard still has to find a long-term solution here.

Apart from that, there is often criticism when it comes to the “toxic community”. But quite soberly, it has to be said that the WoW community hardly differs from other MMORPG communities.

However, it is definitely worthwhile to look for a guild that plays on the same wavelength quite early on. Because that significantly reduces the chance of getting into conflicts. Some veterans who have been playing for 21 years don’t have the patience for newcomers – but at the same time, as a newcomer, you shouldn’t let yourself be rushed and explore everything at your own pace.

It usually helps immensely if you clearly communicate that you are new to the game. The willingness to help is much greater when everyone knows that you are simply new to Azeroth.

Basically, if you dare to get started in WoW, you should enjoy the time above all. There is almost an infinite amount to discover and the magic of the first few weeks is quickly lost if you spend too long with guides, tips and instructions from other players.

Explore Azeroth at your own pace, take a closer look at what you like. You’ll have all the time in the world for guides and data simulations later on, as you delve into the depths of the endgame.
