- In addition, there will be more Master Craftsman Stones from the pit in the future, and important crafting mats such as “Forgotten Souls” will now drop more frequently from Horadric Material Supplies and the chests at Legion events.
- In the future, you will automatically pick up Arcana that you need for the Horadric spells in Season 9.
In addition, the patch brings some bug fixes. Patch 2.3.1 will go live on Tuesday, July 15, 2025.

Update, July 15, 2025, 9 p.m.: Currently, there are players who have abandonments in the game. Blizzard is rolling the patch back to version 2.3.0, as it says in the forum. Community Manager Adam Fletcher writes on X:
“We ran into a few issues this morning with the release of patch 2.3.1, which is why there are currently some rollbacks for PC while we work on a fix. We do this to avoid stability problems for users. The team is already working on a fix. Gift of the Tree will be delayed for now, but we’ll be extending the run time to make up for lost time.”
Blizzard brings buffs for the barbarians
This is what awaits the barbarians: Patch 2.3.1 brings some buffs for the barbarians. You can find the concrete numbers in the official patch notes on page 2 of the article, but here is an overview of the most important changes:
- Battle Trance: More Lucky Strike Chance and Increased Damage Bonus
- Double Swing, Hammer of the Ancients, Churn, Whirlwind: Damage increased
- Mangle: More bleed damage
- Spiked Carapace: More Thorn Damage
But the other classes will also receive buffs. Blizzard is increasing the damage bonus for the Ghostborn Pestilence aspect, as well as the damage bonus from Home Numbers and Cutting Wings. The druids receive a buff to the damage of Pulverize. The sacrifice bonus for additional golem damage of the necromancers is also slightly higher.
For the hunters, there is an increase in the damage bonus from the unique “Death Mask of Nirmitruq”, and the wizards receive buffs for the skill Meteor, the Aspect of the Frozen Orbit and the Aspect of the Frozen Memories.
More crafting mats, less loot stress
This is what the patch changes to the loot: At Torment levels, more crafting mats will drop from Legion Event chests and chests in Nightmare dungeons with the “Horadric Material Supply” affix – including Forgotten Souls. In the pit you will then get additional master craftsman stones:
- Level 70-84: 2-3 Master Craftsman Stones
- Level 85-99: 4-6 Master Craftsman Stones
- Level 100+: 8-9 Master Craftsman Stones
All party members will then receive the experience granted by particles in nightmare dungeons with the affix “Forgotten Wisdom”, so that not only the person who picks up the particles will benefit. In the future, more particles will also appear and they will bring more XP.
As far as looting is concerned, you no longer have to pick up your Arcana manually. This has recently been a topic of discussion in the community, as many players have simply forgotten to collect the important seasonal items
