Really big loot in World of Warcraft on the very first day. We’ll tell you how to get extremely strong equipment right away.
The second season of The War Within has begun, and with it, the hunt for the best gear. To get a head start and quickly swap out your first-season gear, you’ll want to take every trick you can with you. Depth fans, in particular, will get their money’s worth here, as they can still guarantee an item with item level 649 today. This should be a big upgrade for pretty much all characters. Item level 649 – all by yourself
How do you proceed? In the WoW subreddit, the player Harldan has published a little tip. With Season 2, there has been a change in how you get the treasure maps in the depths. You can now only find one treasure map per character per week, but it is guaranteed if you do it correctly.
- Complete your 4 “rich” depths, preferably at level 8. These are the depths indicated by an open, bright gate. Completing these depths will give you just over 2,000 Loren Coins (this season’s new “deep currency”).
- Buy the item “Wave Whirler 2000” from the coin dealer in Dornogal.
- Visit any depth and fight your way to the Stone of Restoration, the “save point” of the deep.
- Use the Wave Whirler 2000. Shortly after, Nemesis, the Season 2 boss, will appear. This boss is guaranteed to drop a Treasure Map of the Depths (if you haven’t already received one this week).
- Now visit a level 8 (or higher) depth and use the treasure map. At the end of this depth, you will find a box that is guaranteed to contain an item with item level 649.
If you use the treasure map at an even harder depth, there are even some gilded coats of arms for the upgrade as a bonus. However, the difficulty is significantly increased here.
Note that you can also find your treasure map in the depths during the whole time. In this case, you will save a lot of time and resources.
Is it worth it? The whole process takes between 1 and 2 hours, but it’s a good way to upgrade before the first raid evening. By the way, you can also level up Brann and of course unlock rewards from the weekly treasure chamber.
By the way, if you want, you can repeat this strategy on all your characters, even if it takes a lot of time, of course. What is clear, however, is that Blizzard has made the Depths even more rewarding in Season 2. Especially at the start of the season, they are an extremely strong source of solid equipment – and even later on, they are still worthwhile because of the emblems that can be obtained there.
