Tier List Guide: DPS, Tank, Healer Rankings (Season 2)

DPS Tier List

S-Tier

  • Hunter: Hunters stand out due to their excellent scaling, powerful AoE capabilities with new shots like Volley, and pets that function as mini-tanks.
  • Rogue: Rogues excel in both PvE and PvP thanks to abilities like Kidney Shot, Rupture/Expose Armor, and high damage potential with Fan of Knives and Blade Flurry.
  • Warrior: Warriors demonstrate prowess in cleave situations with talents like Weapon skill and sweeping strikes, along with reduced rage starvation, leading to improved uptime.
  • Warlock (S-Tier for PvE, B-Tier for PvP): Warlocks shine in caster damage and AoE scenarios, with talents that enhance direct damage spells and improve mana management.

A-Tier

  • Elemental Shaman: Elemental Shamans exhibit improved damage potential and reduced cast times with talents like Elemental Focus, but they remain mana-dependent.
  • DPS Warlock: DPS Warlocks possess immense single-target damage potential and phenomenal utility, making them valuable in raids despite lower damage compared to top classes.
  • Retribution Paladin: Retribution Paladins excel at single-target DPS and boast the best AoE damage, but they face challenges in PvP.

B-Tier

  • Feral Druid: Feral Druids are valued for their strong single-target damage and utility, providing important raid buffs and performing well in PvE.
  • Fire Mage: Fire Mages are known for outstanding AoE damage and surprisingly good healing abilities, benefiting from scaling advantages from talents like Impact and Improved Scorch.
  • Balance Druid: Balance Druids benefit from Moonkin form, Eclipse procs, and new Starfire/Starsurge scaling, but they remain efficient rather than dominant.

C-Tier

  • Arcane Mage: While strong in burst phases, Arcane Mages face scaling issues and mana-gating constraints, leading to reduced effectiveness overall.
  • Shadow Priest: Shadow Priests offer good utility but suffer from extensive mana issues and weak AoE, making them less effective in both PvE and PvP.

D-Tier

  • Frost Mage: Frost Mages lag behind in damage pacing, with talents focused more on survivability and utility than outright damage output.
  • Enhancement Shaman: Enhancement Shamans pose a larger threat with improved abilities, but they struggle with mana issues and limited weapon options.

Tank Tier List

Warrior remains the undisputed best tank in Phase 2, offering high threat generation, damage mitigation, and cooldowns. Protection Paladin is a viable alternative, providing good AoE threat, healing, and utility. Feral Druid falls short as a tank, struggling with low threat, Armor, and cooldowns.

Healer Tier List

Holy Priest emerges as the best healer in Phase 2, excelling with high healing output, mana efficiency, and utility. Restoration Druid is also excellent, providing strong HoTs, mobility, and survivability. Holy Paladin is good, but not exceptional, with decent healing, mana, and buffs. Restoration Shaman lags behind as the weakest healer, with low healing, mana, and utility.

Remember that individual player skills and specific in-game scenarios can influence these rankings. As Phase 2 approaches, consider getting prepared and investing accordingly.
