Call of Duty: Warzone Season 1 Patch Notes:

MAPS

Season 1 of Call of Duty: Warzone introduces a brand new map, Urzikstan, set in Western Asia. Urzikstan is a large map offering a blend of dense urban warfare and open rural battlegrounds.

  • Key features:
    • Controllable mobile point of interest: The Drivable Train, with forward and backward engine controls, a horn, and a handbrake.
    • New traversal mechanic: Ziplines for rapid horizontal navigation.
    • A variety of new and returning traversal options: Vertical ascenders, redeploy drones, and more.
    • A 1v1 Gulag named “Silo” with symmetrical layout for balanced engagements.

The map is divided into several major and minor Points of Interest (POIs), each offering unique gameplay experiences.

MODES

Warzone Season 1 brings back familiar game modes and introduces a new limited-time mode.

  • Battle Royale:
    • The classic Battle Royale experience with a focus on strategic planning and skill.
    • New map: Urzikstan.
    • Player count: 100.
    • Match length: Approximately 20 minutes.
  • Resurgence:
    • Fast-paced, aggressive playstyle on smaller maps.
    • Returning maps: Ashika Island and Vondel.
    • New limited-time mode: Urzikstan Resurgence, focused on several key POIs in Urzikstan.
    • Returning mode: Rotation Resurgence, allowing players to choose from several possible maps every 15 minutes.
  • Plunder:
    • Earn the most cash by looting, completing contracts, and battling opponents.
    • New map: Urzikstan.
    • Player count: 100.
    • Match length: Approximately 15 minutes.
  • Lockdown:
    • Objective-based mode inspired by Hardpoint.
    • Capture and hold zones throughout Vondel.
    • Added to the playlist rotation during Season 1.
    • Map: Vondel.
    • Player count: 36.

WEAPONS

Warzone Season 1 integrates weapons from Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) into the existing pool of MW2 weapons, offering a broader range of options.

  • New Weapons:
    • Assault Rifles: SVA 545, MTZ-556, Holger 556, MCW, DG-56, FR 5.56
    • Battle Rifles: BAS-P, Sidewinder, MTZ-762
    • SMGs: Striker, WSP Swarm, AMR9, WSP-9, Rival-9, Striker 9
    • Shotguns: Lockwood 680, Haymaker, Riveter
    • LMGs: Pulemyot 762, DG-58 LSW, TAQ Eradicator, Holger 26, Bruen MK9
    • Marksman Rifles: KVD Enforcer, MCW 6.8, DM56, MTZ Interceptor
    • Sniper Rifles: Katt-AMR, Longbow, KV Inhibitor
    • Handguns: COR-45, Renetti, TYR, WSP Stinger
    • Launchers: RGL-80
    • Melee: Gutter Knife, Karambit
  • General Adjustments:
    • Backup Pistol: Unholster a COR-45 while performing specific actions like ledge hanging or swimming.
    • Locational Damage Modifiers: Flattened for consistent time-to-kill.
    • Sniper Damage: KATT AMR one-shots to the head at any distance.
    • Riot Shield: Slows movement when equipped as secondary.
    • Weapon Tuning: Removed.
    • Launcher Damage: Adjusted for better interaction with vehicles.

GAMEPLAY

  • New Features:
    • Classic Red Dots: Firing unsuppressed weapons reveals players as red dots on the minimap.
    • Reload Cancel/Segmented Reloads: Players can cancel reloads if bullets are in the magazine.
    • Improved Water Combat: Better visibility in and out of the water.
    • Redeploy Weapons: Players bought back are given a weapon based on the current circle number.
  • Adjusted Features:
    • Loot:
      • Ground & Supply Box Pool: Mix of MW2 and MW3 weapons, equipment, and more.
      • Rarity: Color-coded tooltips to indicate value and rarity.
      • Ground Spread: Improved loot distribution for easier identification.
      • Revive Pistol: Removed from loot pool.
    • Backpack:
      • Layout: Adjusted layout with dedicated ammo slots.
      • Navigation Wrapping: Backpack and loadout wrap when moving to one side.
      • Gulag Entry Kit: Stowable for team coordination.
      • Identical Killstreak Auto Equip: Certain items auto-equip when a matching item is used.
    • Navigation Pings: Removal of yellow warning ping for doors.
    • Killcam Pings: Players can observe all enemy pings during killcam replays.
    • Buy Station:
      • Interact Distance: Extended to 30 meters within the gas.
      • Icon Visibility: Buy Station icons remain visible on the minimap and Tac Map while accessible in the gas.
    • Loadouts:
      • Purchase Price: Reduced price and now scales based on active squad size.
      • Squad Outline: Distinctive white visual design of the Loadout crate is back.
    • Gas Mask:
      • Manual Gas Mask: Players can choose when to equip the Gas Mask.
      • Gas Mask Overlay: Adjusted for a clearer field of view.
    • Gas:
      • Circle Pacing: Adjusted circle timings and centering for a more balanced looting phase.
      • Gas Damage: Increased to 10 damage per tick.
    • Redeploy Drone:
      • Remains stationary in the gas for up to 45 seconds.
      • Moves faster when repositioning.
      • Increased catapult distance.
    • Death’s Door (Low Player Health):
      • Visual overlay triggers at 40% Health.
      • Increased transparency of the overlay.
    • Parachutes: New default parachute texture for MWIII operators.
    • Spawn Protection Timer: Reduced to 2.5 seconds.
    • Infil Height: Decreased to 402 meters.
    • Second Chance Mechanics: Increased spawn rate for Gulag Entry Kits and Redeploy Packs.
    • Strongholds:
      • Linked to a new Public Event.
      • Spawn 4 Strongholds instead of 5.
      • Reduced capture time.
      • Updated capture point and Loadout Locker.
    • Black Sites:
      • Single Black Site spawns at random.
      • Guaranteed Deployable Buy Station and a chance for Advanced UAV as loot.
      • Black Site keys found in ground loot.
    • Plunder:
      • UAV Towers: Now available in Plunder.
      • Cash Balance: Closely monitored for balance.

PERKS

  • New Perks:
    • Shrouded: Drops a Smoke Grenade when downed.
    • Flex: Delay triggered explosives, warns of nearby equipment, and reduces combat noise.
    • Resolute: Bonus to movement speed when taking damage from gunfire.
    • Stalker: Increased strafe and aim down sight movement speed.
    • Payout: Contracts pay out more cash, UAV Towers are discounted.
    • Escapist: Increased downed, prone, and crouch speed.
    • Primed: Improved accuracy and aim down sight time while jumping.
    • Irradiated: Faster movement and reduced gas damage while in the gas circle.
    • Shrapnel: Explosive damage delays enemy health regeneration, slows movement, and disables tactical sprint.
    • Mountaineer: Reduced fall damage.
    • Mechanic: Reduced vehicle repair time, increased fueling speed, and reduced fuel consumption.
  • General Adjustments:
    • Overkill: Removed, players can now equip two Primary Weapons by default.
    • Perk Unlocks: All Warzone Perks unlocked via player progression.
  • Adjusted Perks:
    • Ghost: Blocks UAV, radar, and Heartbeat Sensors, requires movement to activate.
    • Birdseye: UAV, Portable Radar, or UAV Tower shows enemy heading, detects Ghosted players.
    • Survivor: Faster revive speed, reduced health regeneration delay, reduced cash lost on death, and enemy that down you are automatically pinged.
    • Cold Blooded: Negates Combat Scout mark.
    • Battle Hardened: Reduces effects of Frangible bullets and abilities.
    • Double Time: Increases Tac Sprint duration and reduces refresh time.
    • Scavenger: Provides an additional armor plate and cash.
  • New & Returning Plate Carriers:
    • Tempered Plate Carrier: Includes effects of the Tempered Perk.
    • Medic Plate Carrier: Includes effects of the Survivor Perk.
    • Comms Plate Carrier: Provides effects of the Birdseye Perk.
    • Stealth Plate Carrier: Provides effects of the Ghost Perk.

MOVEMENT

  • Highlight:
    • Tac Pads, Commando Gloves, Quick-Grip Gloves, and Climbing Boots are enabled by default.
  • New Movement:
    • Tactical Stance: A weapon stance that grants faster mobility at the cost of accuracy.
  • Returning Movement:
    • ADS While Sliding: Aim down sights and shoot while sliding by default.
  • Adjusted Movement:
    • Jump Changes: Jump higher, faster, and ADS quicker.
    • Slide Cancel: Cancel a slide by jumping, sprinting, or crouching.
    • Slide Distance: Impacted by the incline of the surface.

CONTRACTS

  • Returning Contracts:
    • Big Game Bounty: Place a bounty on a player from a high-performing squad, eliminating the target rewards an Advanced UAV.
    • Scavenger: Open 3 special scavenger caches for additional loot and Plate Carriers.
  • General Adjustments:
    • Activation Laptop: Contracts activated instantly with no delay or animation.
    • Updated Contract Spawning: Increased contract spawns later in a match.
    • New Icons: Updated contract icons for better visibility.
  • Adjusted Contracts:
    • Bounty Contract: Rewards a single UAV ping around the bounty target when the hunter team kills them.
    • Intel Contract: Capture speed increases with additional squad members.
    • Most Wanted Contract: Surviving the contract spawns a High Value Supply Crate with a Gulag Entry Kit.
    • Signals Intelligence Contract (Vondel Exclusive): Increased passive income per player.

PUBLIC EVENTS

  • New Public Events:
    • Restock Supply Sweep: Restock now starts a personal supply sweep for every player when activated.
    • Fly Buy: Drones drop portable Buy Stations into the Warzone.
    • Strongholds: Now have a chance to appear as a Public Event at the start of the match.
  • Adjusted Public Events:
    • Firesale: Item discount increased to 50%.

EQUIPMENT

  • New Equipment:
    • Lethal: Breacher Drone, Thermobaric Grenade
    • Tactical: EMD Grenade, Scatter Mine
  • Adjusted Equipment:
    • Lethal: Drill Charge, Claymore, Frag Grenade, Semtex Grenade, Thermite
    • Tactical: Smoke Grenade, Stim, Experimental Gas (Tear Gas), Shock Stick, Snapshot Grenade, Battle Rage, Flash Grenade

FIELD UPGRADES

  • New Field Upgrades:
    • Heartbeat Sensor: Pulse every 2.5 seconds, increased range.
  • Adjusted Field Upgrades:
    • Portable Radar: Increased radar pulse radius.
    • Armor & Ammunition Boxes: Removed equipment box delay.

KILLSTREAKS

  • New Killstreaks:
    • Guardian: Stationary turret that projects sound to disrupt and stun players.
    • Mosquito Drone: Automated drone that deals damage to targets.

VEHICLES

  • New Vehicle:
    • Coyote: Lightly armored off-road vehicle.
  • General Adjustments:
    • Vehicle Start Time: Decreased input delay when entering a vehicle.
    • Helicopter Collision: Updated damage profile for better collision reflection.

UI/UX

  • Combat Record:
    • Fresh Combat Record for Season 1, tracking statistics for Battle Royale, Resurgence, and Plunder.
  • General Adjustments:
    • Icon Fade: Icons fade away when aiming down sights.
    • Improved Headshot Hitmarker: Updated headshot hitmarker visuals and sound effects.
    • Updated Icons: Updated icons on the Tac Map.
    • XP/Score Events: All Score events are now yellow.
    • Supply Box Visuals: Adjusted visuals to convey value more clearly.
    • Armor Plate Color: Armor Plates are now blue unless affected by the Tempered Perk.
    • Nameplates: Improved visibility of Allied nameplates.
    • Perk Package Icons: Perk Package icons now display the included Perks.

KNOWN ISSUES

  • The new Perk Flex appears as “Faculty” in the menu.
  • Resurgence Rotation map visual is not appearing in the UI.
  • The AAR shows the default Calling Card instead of the equipped one.
  • Players may encounter an error when detonating a bomb drone.
  • Killcam pings will not be active until later in launch week.
  • Players who crash out of Private Match cannot rejoin.
