World of Warcraft: The War Within next major update unveiled
The next major update for World of Warcraft, “Undermine(d),” is set for early next year. This patch delves into the previously unexplored depths of the goblin capital, Undermine. Players can expect a variety of content, including:
- A new, customizable vehicle.
- A fresh storyline.
- A new arena map.
- A new dungeon.
- Two new delves.
- A new raid.
- Various other updates.
World of Warcraft: Midnight will feature player housing at last
Blizzard teased the upcoming expansion, World of Warcraft: Midnight, with a surprising announcement: player housing. This long-awaited feature will be included in the expansion. While no details were given in the Direct, fans can anticipate further information later next summer, during the official reveal of Midnight.
World of Warcraft: Classic is headed to Pandaria
World of Warcraft: Classic is continuing its journey through the retail expansion history, moving into Mists of Pandaria in 2025. Furthermore, new “vanilla” Classic realms, with fresh PvE, PvP, and Hardcore servers, will launch on November 21st. These realms will progressively advance through Classic’s content, starting with Molten Core a few weeks after launch, then onto Burning Crusade Classic. This effectively restarts the expansion cycle for these new Classic realms.
Warcraft I and II are being remastered
Warcraft I and Warcraft II are receiving remasters, not remakes. The remasters include completely remastered graphics and a host of quality-of-life improvements. Key features include:
- Improved graphics.
- Quality-of-life improvements.
- Warcraft II will feature multiplayer functionality.
- Compatibility with legacy custom maps.
A new patch for Warcraft III: Reforged is also in the works, including a graphical overhaul and quality-of-life enhancements to further improve the experience. All three games will be bundled together in a Battle Chest with tiered pricing options.
Hearthstone is getting a crossover with…Starcraft?!
Hearthstone is embarking on a new chapter in 2025, starting with a mini-set crossover themed around StarCraft. This mini-set will feature unique mechanics and card designs inspired by all three factions: Protoss, Zerg, and Terran. Following this, the Emerald Dream expansion and The Shrouded City expansion will shape the 2025 content calendar, concluding with The Heroes of Time, a time-themed expansion featuring Chromie.
Warcraft Rumble is coming to PC
Warcraft Rumble, the mobile game, is expanding its horizons to PC. A beta launch is scheduled for December 10th. The PC version promises enhanced gameplay and a wider player base. This transition to PC is in addition to a significant update, introducing new split faction leaders – Orgrim Doomhammer, Malfurion Stormrage, and Anub’arak. Characters like Sylvanas also gain a second faction in this refresh.
