Valorant RR Refund Guide

What is the Valorant’s Rank Rollback (RR Refund)

Valorant’s Rank Rollback system is designed to fairly compensate players who have lost Rank Rating (RR) due to encountering cheaters in competitive matches. If a player you played with or against is confirmed to have been cheating and is subsequently banned, the system will evaluate the impact of that player on your RR gains or losses during those matches.

The goal is to restore RR that was unfairly taken away due to the presence of a cheater, creating a more equitable and enjoyable competitive experience. This system aims to reduce the frustration and discouragement players may feel when they suspect or confirm the presence of illicit activity in their games. It focuses primarily on confirmed cheaters identified and banned by Riot’s anti-cheat system, Vanguard.

This system doesn’t apply to other negative behaviors like griefing or intentional feeding, but Riot may implement new systems for those in the future.

How to Use Valorant’s Rank Rollback (RR Refund)

The Valorant Rank Rollback system is automated; you don’t need to manually request a refund. Here’s how it works:

  • Detection and Notification: When a player in your recent competitive matches is confirmed to have cheated and is banned, Riot Games will identify the matches affected. You will receive an in-game notification informing you that a rollback is being applied. This notification will include the amount of RR being refunded.
  • Play a Match: After receiving the notification, you must play one full Competitive match to activate the RR refund.
  • End-of-Game Summary: After completing the match, the RR refund will be applied and displayed in the End-of-Game Summary. This will be visible regardless of whether you win or lose the match you played. The refunded RR will be added to your total.

Keep in mind that Rank Rollbacks are tied to the current Act, so you must complete the process during the Act in which the cheating occurred. Failure to play a match before the Act ends will result in forfeiting the RR refund. If you believe you should have received a refund and haven’t, contact Riot Games Support for assistance.
