A Walkthrough of the Event
To begin your Christmas adventure, ensure you have some free inventory slots and aren’t wearing a cape. Teleport to Barbarian Village; a Skull Sceptre teleport is perfect for F2P players. Look for the event icon just west of the village on your minimap and speak with Guss. He wants to enter a tavern through a portal but needs to win some games first. After talking to Guss, head north and chat with Santa. Prepare for a bit of humor as you initially ask for a very valuable item before getting down to business. Santa will then assign you and Guss different times for the games to keep everything fair.
Speak with Guss again to inform him of the timers. He will confess he’s been trying to do this for 21 years. He also admits that he will cheat to get into the finals, where he’ll face you. Return to Santa, who will present a pun-filled riddle. Answer it to continue the quest; any answer will do. Santa will ask you if you want to enter the festive games. After this say yes and remove your cape!

Playing With Coal
Initiate the first minigame by talking to Santa’s scribe. The objective is simple: collect coal from the ground and give it to the NPCs. They will also give coal to you so you need to keep grabbing it off the floor and giving it to them. To secure victory, grab the coal and click on the NPCs to give them your coal. Watch out! If the NPCs give you 100 pieces of coal, you’ll lose and need to restart the minigame. Upon completion, a personal best timer will appear in the chat, reminiscent of boss fights. Speak with the scribe again and answer “snowman” to his riddle to continue.
It can get pretty hectic as everyone will be trying to pass you coal at the same time. Just keep your head down and start giving away coal as soon as you can.
Gingerbread, Gingerbread, Gingerbread Rock
Following the coal minigame, head into the northeast building and talk to the NPC to begin the next challenge. This time, it revolves around collecting gingerbread. Be aware of the different types; most award points, but the red “shattered gingerbread” will subtract 10 points. Grab a few gingerbread at a time, keeping an eye out for other NPCs who might steal your gingerbread. Pay attention to “merryxmas2000,” who might shout, “I’ve got all the bad ones just for you!”. He will try to reset your points unless you kick him.
Once you accumulate 250 points, you’ll win the round, and your time will appear in the chatbox. Speak to the gnome inspector again for the final riddle and answer “candle” to his question to progress.
A Snow-filled Fiasco
Leave the building through the north exit and move on to the last minigame. Having sufficient inventory space will be beneficial here, as you’ll need to grab lots of snowballs and use them to eliminate the other NPCs. When an NPC throws a snowball at you, you can dodge it by moving away. The regular white snowballs deal 10 damage, while the rare yellow snowballs deal 50 damage, so prioritize picking those up! Eliminate all NPCs except Guss to win the game.
After eliminating all the NPCs, a cutscene will commence, showing you and Guss in the final round. Whether you decide to dodge and win or let him win, you’ll both gain access to the pub. Talk to him again to finish the event. You can store the non-tradeables in your toy box, inside your player-owned house.
