PUBG Weapon Tier List

Gun Tier S

Let’s start with the best of the best, Tier “S” for “special.” These weapons offer significant advantages regardless of your skill level, making them valuable assets in any PUBG match.

S Tier: AWM

The AWM is the king of PUBG snipers, available only from loot crates or airdrops. It boasts the highest damage per shot and exceptional accuracy, making it a one-shot kill machine. The downside? Limited .300 ammo, typically 15 rounds per drop, making each shot precious.

S Tier: M24

The M24 is a close second to the AWM, another supply crate exclusive. While statistically slightly inferior, it uses the more readily available 7.62 ammo, allowing for more shots at distant targets. Its precision and power make it a formidable sniper option.

S Tier: Groza

The Groza, a drop supply weapon, reigns supreme as the best assault rifle in PUBG. Its incredible fire rate and laser-like accuracy, especially with a red dot and suppressor, make it a close-quarters combat beast. While not ideal for long range, it’s a force to be reckoned with in those final circle skirmishes.

Gun Tier A

These weapons, while not quite reaching the S tier heights, are still top-tier choices with unique strengths and roles in PUBG.

A Tier: Kar98

The Kar98 is a reliable, highly precise bolt-action rifle, one of the best non-crate weapons in PUBG. It’s a common find, boasting great range and penetration power. The single-bullet reload, however, can be a drawback in rapid engagements.

A Tier: MK14

The MK14, a supply crate weapon, is a powerful DMR that can’t quite compete with the AWM or M24. Its louder sound and heavier recoil compared to the SKS make it a bit less controllable. The MK14’s automatic fire mode offers an alternative to its semi-automatic counterpart. A good weapon, but one that takes practice.

A Tier: M249

The M249 LMG, a supply crate exclusive, has been underestimated by many. Its massive 100-round magazine and ability to stabilize with a bipod, effectively negating recoil when lying down, make it a suppression machine. Equipped with a 4x scope, it can even be effective at medium to long ranges. The long reload time is its only major drawback, but the magazine size mitigates that significantly.

A Tier: M416

The M416 is arguably the best non-crate weapon in PUBG. Its high rate of fire, accuracy, and minimal recoil make it a versatile weapon for almost any situation. Its ability to handle close to long range engagements with the right attachments makes it a top pick.

A Tier: Mini14

The Mini14, a common find, is a precise sniper rifle that lacks the power of the Kar98. With an extended magazine and a good scope, it can be surprisingly effective. Its accuracy and fast firing rate make it a viable alternative to the Kar98, especially in high-lag situations.

Gun Tier B

Tier B weapons are still good choices, but they have specific drawbacks that make them less desirable than the A tier weapons.

B Tier: M16

The M16 is the closest to the A tier in Tier B. A simple weapon with only three attachment slots, it rewards players with fast clicking fingers. Its lack of fully automatic fire, however, limits its effectiveness in close-quarters combat.

B Tier: AK47

The AK47, known for its durability and power, is not the most sought-after assault rifle in PUBG. Its heavy recoil and lack of precision make it challenging to control. It takes skill and adaptation to master its nuances.

B Tier: SKS

The SKS, another high-recoil weapon, can be a decent sniper with the right attachments. An extended magazine and a vertical grip help tame its kick, allowing for faster follow-up shots. It’s a good choice for players who prefer a faster-firing DMR.

B Tier: VSS

The VSS, formerly a supply crate exclusive, is a suppressed sniper rifle with a 4x scope. Its low damage and high bullet drop make it a niche weapon. It’s most effective in close to medium-range engagements, providing a stealthy advantage.

B tier: The Pan

The indestructible pan, a staple of PUBG melee combat, is a versatile tool. It’s effective for close-range encounters and can be used as an improvised shield. A testament to its durability, it deserves a place in the back of Tier B.

Gun Tier C

Tier C weapons are often picked up as temporary replacements for higher tier options. They have their uses, but they’re not as desirable as the weapons above.

  • Tommy Gun: Nerfed and removed from supply crates, it’s often replaced with more powerful weapons.
  • DP28: A good weapon for suppression, but its accuracy leaves something to be desired.
  • UMP: A solid close-quarters weapon, but it’s not as powerful as the Uzi.
  • UZI: Excellent for indoor combat, especially with extended mag and a suppressor.
  • Shotgun: Effective at close range, but its limited range makes it less versatile.
  • Glock: A basic sidearm, useful early in the game.

Gun Tier D

This tier represents the weapons that are often left behind. These weapons are generally not worth the backpack space.

Remember, these tiers are based on general effectiveness and personal preferences play a role. Certain weapons can excel in specific situations. Always adapt your loadout to the environment and your playstyle. The PUBG world is ever-changing, and weapon balance updates frequently influence the meta. Keep an eye on those updates and experiment with different weapons to find what works best for you.
