In Path of Exile 2, builds are quite complex, and you need a lot of time and patience to polish them. A player has now built a powerful build for the sorceress, with which you can freeze the entire battlefield and bosses and bombard them with comets. To create such powerful builds efficiently, many players choose to Buy POE 2 Currency, saving time and focusing on the fun of mastering the game.
What kind of build is this? This is a simple build from YouTuber Zen_M for all players who want to get started with Path of Exile 2 but don’t want to memorize complicated rotations of other classes. The sorceress with her Comet build is a good choice.
In it, you freeze your opponents and automatically drop frozen comets onto the battlefield to pause your opponents and dominate them.
The build is simple, easy to understand and, with the right preparation, quick to implement. That’s why we’ll show you in our guide how you should optimally skill your sorceress at the beginning of your journey and what you need to know about gems and your rotation in the endgame.
Skills to get started: From Act 1 to Act 3
What does the build look like until the endgame? You can only wield the true power of the ice in the endgame, but until then, you’ll have to make do with weaker talents. Therefore, depending on the act, use the following skills:
Act 1: All Skills and Gems
| Skills for Act 1 | Support Gems for Act 1 |
|---|---|
| Main Ability: Spark | – Unleash – Controlled Destruction |
| Flame Wall | – Spell Cascade |
| Frost Bomb | – Magnified Effect (for Map) – Concentrated Effect (for Bosses) – Glaciation |
| Optional: Orb of Storm | Arcane Tempo |
How does the rotation work? Use Spark as your main ability. You pair these with Flame Wall to strengthen your projectiles. You always use Frost Bomb on bosses on cooldown. Orb of Storm serves as an extension of the Flame Wall – it is useful, but not necessary.
What should I focus on in the passive skill tree? From the starting point, go up the fork, but on the left side and activate all points up to Path of Storms.
Before the fork meets and continues up, continue along the left path and redeem the points up to Exploit the Elements. For the smaller points, focus more on increased cast speed, intelligence and more damage for elements.
Act 2: All Skills and Gems
| Skills for Act 2 | Support Gems for Act 2 |
|---|---|
| Main Ability: Frostbolt | – Scattershot – Glaciation |
| Cold Snap | – Spell Cascade – Concentrated Effect |
| Frost Bomb | – Magnified Effect – Controlled Destruction |
| When unlocked: Hypothermia | none |
How does the rotation work? You use Frostbolt as your main ability and Cold Snap for a cold detonation. Frost Bomb is again intended for stronger enemies and bosses and must always be on cooldown. Hypothermia debuffs your enemies and makes them more vulnerable to frost damage.
What should I focus on in the passive skill tree? Here you focus completely on the ice element. So go all the way up to the top from the starting point and activate:
- Endless Blizzard
- Inescapable Cold
- Glaciation
You should also choose the following perks:
- Ascendancys from Stormweaver: Scouring Winds
- Overexposure (on the way up at the second last crossroads, the first constellation on the left)
Act 3: All Skills and Gems
| Skills for Act 3 | Support Gems for Act 3 |
|---|---|
| Cast on Freeze | Skill: Cold Snap (trade with Comet when you reach Gem-Cutting Lvl. 11) – Spell Echo |
| Main Ability: Frostbolt | – Scattershot – Glaciation |
| Frost Bomb | – Magnified Effect – Strip Away |
| Frost Wall | – Spell Cascade – Icicle |
| Hypothermia | none |
How does the rotation work? You actively use Frostbolt and freeze your opponents. With Cast on Freeze, however, you no longer have to actively cast Cold Snap – the skill now activates automatically after each freeze. Again, keep Frost Bomb on cooldown against tougher enemies.
Frost Wall is now an add-on that creates crystals that explode with enough damage and deal area damage. You can use this skill at will, but especially against bosses – they almost always explode the crystals immediately when they spawn.
Also, disable Cast on Freeze when fighting bosses and then mainly use Frost Bomb and Frost Wall – otherwise your opponent will be thawed out again. So spam Frostbolt and Frost Bomb and if boss is frozen, only Frost Wall until it thaws again.
What should I focus on in the passive skill tree? It is best to take the path to the right on the way up at the second-to-last intersection to the perk “Shattered Crystal”. This reduces the life of your crystals to increase your DPS.
Comet Build: What skills do I need for the endgame?
| Skills for the endgame | Endgame Support Gems |
|---|---|
| Cast on Freeze | Skill: Comet – Concentrated Effect – Impetus |
| Elemental Invocation | Skill: Comet – Spell Echo – Capacitor |
| Main Ability: Frostbolt | – Scattershot – Glaciation – Controlled Destruction |
| Comet | – Hourglass – Inevitable Critical – Supercritical |
| Frost Bomb | – Magnified Effect – Strip Away – Considered Casting |
| Frost Wall | – Spell Cascade – Icicle – Cold Mastery |
| Hypothermia | – Persistence – Heightened Curse |
| Leap Slam (optional for agility) | none |
How does the rotation work? You activate Frostbolt until your opponent is frozen and then activate Frost Bomb and Frost Wall. Hypothermia helps you again with a debuff that lowers the resources of your enemies. You can use Comet as you wish, depending on whether you still have enough mana. The Leap Slam is mainly used for locomotion, to create distance to your opponents.
Which route do I take in the passive skill tree? In your Skill Tree, you now need to activate a point in Energy on the right side of the passive Skill Tree in order to use Elemental Invocation effectively – also activate “Invocated Efficiency” in the same area.
In addition, you should have activated some points of “Freeze Buildup” in the second-to-last intersection on the way up. Last but not least, activate the “Thin Ice” item in the same area under the energy tree. In Ascendancys, Arcane Sword is added to Scouring Winds.
All information about weapons, armor and potions
Skills and their gems are important for you to have a strong rotation for combat, but without the right equipment, your build is not effective enough. Therefore, you should rely on the following items and affixes:
| Type of item | Affixes |
|---|---|
| Helmet | – Health Points – Resistances |
| Gloves | – Structure for freezing |
| Chest Armor | – Reduces Mana Cost – Increase Spirit |
| Boot | – Increased locomotion – resistances |
| Jewellery | – Resistances– Increase Spirit– Health Points – Attributes |
| Belt | – Health Points – Attributes – Resistances |
| Watering place | – Healing Potion: X% on Instant Healing – Mana Potion: X% increased amount that is restored |
That was all the important information regarding the beginner build for the sorceress. The build is powerful and, above all, can only unfold its true strength in the endgame.
