Fair Play
Many Palworld creatures, or Pals, are clearly inspired by Pokémon but have a unique design. The essence is there but the execution is distinct. Consider Pengullet, which evokes Piplup, or Jormuntide, a Chinese water-dragon reminiscent of Gyarados. The differences in style and features suggest a respectful tribute rather than a direct copy.
Pengullet
The blue penguin Pal, Pengullet, is reminiscent of Piplup, but it’s a unique interpretation of the penguin theme. Its design choices showcase an effort to create something fresh.
Jormuntide
Jormuntide, a Chinese water-dragon Pal, displays strong similarities to Gyarados, notably in its aquatic-dragon form. However, the Pal’s design adds elements like wings, creating a distinctive look, and further development of its features and overall design language.
A Little Something Borrowed
Some Pals share striking facial similarities with specific Pokémon. This category highlights cases where the face, or a key feature, is almost a direct copy. These include Mozzarina, Grintale, and Dumud.
Mozzarina
Mozzarina’s face mirrors Snorlax’s. The similarities are strong in terms of facial expression and shape, except for the direction of teeth.
Grintale
Grintale bears a striking resemblance to Galarian Meowth, despite slight variations in the pupils.
Dumud
Dumud’s face closely resembles Slowpoke’s, maintaining the same derpy expression and open mouth. The only significant difference is the presence of teeth on both top and bottom in Dumud, compared to Slowpoke’s single set.
A Striking Resemblance
Here, the Pals retain a significant portion of their own design, yet maintain visual cues from other Pokémon. These cues come from specific design aspects that can be compared to other designs.
Kingpaca
Kingpaca bears a likeness to Emploeon in the shape and design of its crown on its head. The egg-like body shape from the front also shares similarities. Despite these similarities, the Pals’s design identity is still evident.
Univolt
Univolt shares characteristics with Zebstrika, though enough design aspects differ to prevent mistaking them for each other. Palworld’s design choices showcase its unique style, though influenced by inspiration from Zebstrika.
Robinquill
The archer Pal, Robinquill, shares a striking color scheme, bow, and arrow with the bird Pokémon, Decidueye. These design aspects are notably similar.
Tocotoco
Tocotoco is a bird Pal sharing color schemes and beak shapes with Pokémon like Xatu and Toucannon. These are distinct aspects of the creatures’ design language that share similar features.
The Resemblance Is Uncanny
These Pals exhibit a near-exact resemblance to particular Pokémon. They’re virtually clones with only minor differences.
Sparkit
Sparkit resembles Pikachu, particularly in its small size, yellow fur, and electric-type design. However, its underlying design seems to be based more on Raichu, evidenced by features like the tail and paws.
Anubis
Anubis, the Pal, has a strong likeness to Lucario due to its humanoid form and pointed ears. The difference lies in the Egyptian armor that Anubis is wearing.
Foxparks
The fire fox Pal, Foxparks, shows inspiration from Fire-Type Pokémon like Nicket, Vulpix, and Charmander, identifiable through visual cues.
Grizzbolt
Grizzbolt blends characteristics of Electabuzz, with its color scheme and lightning-bolt design, and Zangoose, with its body shape. Combining the features of the two models, it creates a distinct Pal.
Elizabee
Elizabee echoes Vespiquen’s design, especially in the snatched waist, long arms with pointy bug hands, and dress-like abdomen.
Astegon
Astegon mirrors Mega Aggron in its build and shape. This is a case where the Pal resembles a highly evolved stage of a Pokémon.
Incineram
Incineram has a strong resemblance to Zoroark with the application of a Fire Stone. The design has been modified with the application of a fire-based theme, creating a distinctive Pal.
Orserk

Twinning
These Pals share a close resemblance to their Pokémon counterparts, mimicking their appearance closely.
Jetragon

Lamball
Lamball looks remarkably like Wooloo. The modifications to the original design are minimal, resulting in an almost identical Pal, with only minor details changed.
Fenglope
Fenglope closely resembles Cobalion, with almost identical body and color scheme. The similarities are notable due to the strong resemblance of the designs.
Broncherry
Broncherry is very similar to Meganium, although it has minor differences in its appearance. Notable differences are minor alterations from Meganium’s original design.

Mish-Mashed
These Pals seem to be a blend of various Pokémon designs. They exhibit a compilation of features and styles from multiple Pokémon.
Verdash
Verdash appears to be a combination of Cinderace (colored green), Leafeon, and Hisuian Arcanine, blending their design elements to create its own.
Azurobe
Azurobe merges Serperior’s body with Primarina’s hair color and design, creating a snake-like Pal with a distinctly blue color scheme. This demonstrates the mashup design aspects from Serperior and Primarina’s unique body designs.
Dinossom
Dinossom combines Goodra’s body with Lilligant’s crown and Meganium’s eyes. It is a combination of design elements from these Pokémon to create a distinctive Pal.
Lyleen
Lyleen is largely based on Mega Gardevoir’s ballroom gown look with Bellossom’s flower embellishments. The unique aspects of these designs are highlighted by combining visual aspects of the respective Pokémon.
Lovander
Lovander, unfortunately, combines Mewtwo’s legs with Salazzle’s feminine features, creating a somewhat strange and less appealing Pal. Combining aspects of Mewtwo and Salazzle’s designs, this Pal is notable for the unique design elements from the individual Pokémon.
It’s Like Looking Into a Mirror
These Pals are almost perfect replicas of their Pokémon counterparts, differing only in minor details.
