OSRS Monkey Madness Quest Guide

Monkey Madness 1 OSRS Requirements

To embark on the Monkey Madness Part 1 OSRS quest, you must have completed both The Grand Tree and Tree Gnome Village quests. You’ll also need to be prepared for combat, as you’ll face a level 195 Jungle Demon.

Here are some essential items:

  • Gold bar
  • Ball of wool
  • Corpse of Karamja (obtained during the quest) or Monkey bones

Additionally, consider these recommendations for a smoother experience:

  • Prayer: Level 43 Prayer is highly recommended.
  • Potions and Food: Carry healing potions or foods for restoration.
  • Poison Cure: Having an antidote for poison is essential.
  • Lockpick: You’ll need this to open a cell door.
  • Weight-Reducing Clothing: If you have any, this can help carry your inventory.

Monkey Madness 1 OSRS Step-by-Step – Chapter 1

Begin your journey at the Tree Gnome Stronghold and speak with King Narnode Shareen. He’ll instruct you to investigate Glough’s old shipyard for clues about the missing 10th Squad. You’ll be given the Gnome royal seal.

Next, head to Karamja using the glider found atop the Grand Tree. Locate G.L.O. Caranock near the southern fence of the Shipyard. His shifty behavior will lead you back to the king.

Narnode will direct you to Daero, the new head tree guardian, located on the 1st floor of the Grand Tree. Once you’ve exhausted all dialogue options, inform Daero you’re ready to leave. You’ll be blindfolded and taken to an underground hangar, where you’ll meet Waydar. Now, it’s time to solve a puzzle.

Solving the Puzzle

The puzzle involves sliding numbered tiles into their correct positions. Here’s a solution:

  1. Move tiles 1, 2, and 3 into their correct positions in the top-left corner.
  2. Move tile 4 to the top-right corner and tile 5 under tile 4.
  3. Slide tile 4 to the left and move tile 5 up to complete the first row.
  4. Repeat this technique with the next row, maintaining the completed row above.
  5. Finally, move the tiles in the last two rows from left to right, ensuring the final two columns are two tiles high.

If you struggle, you can pay Glough 200,000 coins, leaving only one tile to slide for completion. After solving the puzzle, talk to Daero and Waydar, and you’ll land on Crash Island, the last known location of the 10th Squad.

Speak to Lumdo and request a sail to Ape Atoll. He’ll refuse due to orders from Garkor. Talk to Waydar again, and then return to Lumdo, who will now agree to take you to Ape Atoll.

Monkey Madness 1 – Chapter 2

Upon arriving at Ape Atoll, head west along the southern coastline until you reach a mahogany tree. From there, go north, but beware of poisonous snakes, scorpions, and jungle spiders. Protect from Missiles prayer is useful here, as you’ll face poisoned arrows near the Ape Atoll gate.

You’ll be knocked unconscious and imprisoned. Upon waking, you’ll find yourself in a cell guarded by Aberab and Trefaji. Talk to Lumo, but avoid the northern cell wall to prevent a punch. The guards patrol in a predictable pattern before switching shifts.

Use your lockpick when the guard is away from the cell door. Follow the guard as he exits to find the way out. Head north, then east, where you’ll find Karam, another member of the 10th Squad, in the bushes by the crafting shop.

After finding Karam, go south, staying in the grass to avoid monkey archers, until you pass the large door. Then, head east around the castle until you find yourself between the castle and the white building. You’ll find Garkor, the Sergeant of the 10th Squad, just past the building.

Exhaust all dialogue options with Garkor until you’re told to meet with Zooknock. Head west, staying in the grass, to reach a doorway. Go through the door marked with a blue square, which will take you to a closed-off area guarded by a sleeping monkey.

Enter the door and stay on the dark brown ground, being mindful of poisonous spiders. Find bananas in the crates near the ladder to the southwest. Avoid interacting with the guard to prevent additional guards from appearing.

Head to the south-east and search the crate to find the M’amulet mould.

Into the Dungeon

Once you reach the dungeon, follow the long path. Equip Protect from Melee prayer if you have it, and use it when near enemies. Take shelter under overhangs to avoid rocks. Claw traps can be navigated by stopping a square behind them and then running through.

The area is inhabited by spiders, monkey zombies, and skeletons. At the end of the path, you’ll find Zooknock, Waymottin, and Bunkwicket. Use the M’amulet Mould, gold bar, and monkey dentures on Zooknock to obtain the enchanted bar.

Head down the trapdoor to the east. Equip Protect from Melee again for protection from monkey guards. The best route is to go upstairs, climb down the ladder, and approach the trapdoor. Ensure you’re clear of guards before going down.

Continue with Protect from Melee as you go down the trapdoor, past the monkey zombies, and use the enchanted bar on the wall of flames. Climb back up the ladder and use the ball of wool with the amulet to create the M’speak amulet. Go west to find a banana garden guarded by the Monkey’s Aunt. Observe her pattern and avoid the garden while she’s present to prevent her from summoning guards.

Once she leaves, speak to the Monkey Child and tell him you’re his uncle. He’ll ask for 20 bananas, but five will suffice. Pick five bananas from the nearby trees and hide if the Aunt returns. Tell the Monkey Child you’ve lost his Monkey talisman and won’t replace it, prompting him to cry. You can also buy the talisman from Tutab’s Magical Market for 1000 coins. Collect one talisman per greegree desired (at least four if you plan on doing Recipe for Disaster) and then leave Ape Atoll.

Bank any items you need, then return to Zooknock through the tunnel. Use the monkey talisman and monkey bones on Zooknock to create a greegree.

Monkey Madness 1 OSRS – Chapter 3

Use your monkey greegree to transform into a monkey. This will prevent attacks from wildlife. Speak to Garkor while in monkey form, then equip the M’speak amulet to talk to the Elder Guard nearby. He’ll direct you to Kruk.

Head west past the main gate and enter the village of Marim until you reach the water. Go south down the path to a hill, climb the ladder, cross the bamboo bridge, and descend the eastern ladder to speak to Kruk. He’ll escort you to King Awowogei.

Talk to Awowogei and suggest an alliance. You’ll be tasked with rescuing a monkey from the Ardougne Zoo. Travel to Ardougne and enter the zoo. Transform into a monkey and speak to the monkey minder, who will place you in a cage. Talk to the monkey with the “Talk” option to add him to your inventory. Unequip your greegree and speak to the monkey minder to be released.

Head to the Gnome Stronghold and speak with Daero on the first floor. Then, travel back to Ape Atoll. Equip your greegree upon arrival and talk to Awowogei again. The monkey leaving your backpack will encourage Awowogei to consider an alliance. To start the next chapter, speak to Garkor.

Monkey Madness 1 OSRS – Chapter 4

Garkor will give you a 10th Squad sigil. Before equipping it, consider banking to prepare for the final battle with the Jungle Demon. Ensure you have ample potions, prayer points, and health.

Equip the sigil to enter the Jungle Demon’s arena. The 10th Squad gnomes will assist you, but you must deal the killing blow; otherwise, the demon will regain a quarter of its health. Focus on ranged attacks, and lure the demon towards the gnomes. Protect from Magic prayer is essential. There’s a safe spot across the bridge on the edge of the arena, where you can use ranged attacks or quickly engage in melee combat. If using melee, rings of recoil can help against heavy attacks.

After defeating the Jungle Demon, speak to Garkor, who will suggest talking to Zooknock to teleport out. This will take you to Ape Atoll, or you can explore the banana plantation. Once ready, escape from the island by teleporting or exiting through the main gates in monkey form, and then head back to the Gnome Stronghold.

Upon arriving at the Gnome Stronghold, go to the Grand Tree and speak with King Narnode. This will complete the quest. Daero will then start your training as a member of the 10th Squad.

Monkey Madness 1 OSRS Quest Rewards

Completing the quest rewards you with three quest points, 10,000 coins, and three diamonds. Speaking to Daero afterward gives you the choice of receiving 35,000 experience in attack and defense, plus 20,000 experience in strength and hitpoints, or vice versa.

To return to Ape Atoll after completing the quest, you must start Daero’s training. With this guide, you’re ready to conquer the Monkey Madness OSRS quest, a challenging journey filled with engaging encounters and rewarding experiences. Enjoy your victory, and be prepared for more monkey madness in the future!
