Oblivion Remastered: Daedra Shrine Locations & Guide
One of the most appealing aspects of the Elder Scrolls series is its immersive world, brimming with secrets and powerful artifacts. In *Oblivion*, players can seek out the Daedric Princes and complete quests for them, receiving unique and potent rewards in return. To begin these quests, you’ll need to locate the hidden Daedric shrines scattered across Cyrodiil, meet the level requirements, and present the appropriate offering. This guide provides locations, requirements, and rewards for each Daedric shrine, helping you acquire all the Daedric artifacts in the game.
Azura’s Shrine
You can find Azura’s Shrine directly north of Cheydinhal. Head past Lake Arrius and look for the shrine atop a mountain ridge. To initiate her quest, you must be at least level 2. You’ll also require Glow Dust as an offering, which can be obtained by defeating Will-o’-the-Wisps, commonly found at night. Importantly, Azura only accepts offerings between the hours of 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM or 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM. Succeeding in her quest rewards you with Azura’s Star, a reusable soul gem.
Boethia’s Shrine
Boethia’s Shrine is located southeast of Cheydinhal. Follow the path toward Lake Poppad. The shrine is positioned on higher ground. To activate the quest, you must reach level 20. You must also offer one Daedra Heart. These can be acquired from various Daedra, especially in Oblivion gates. Successfully completing Boethia’s challenge earns you the powerful Goldbrand katana. This weapon is a fiery blade that deals extra damage to enemies.
Clavicus Vile
To find Clavicus Vile’s Shrine, head northwest from Chorrol’s North Gate, across the Orange Road. You must be level 20 to begin his quest. Also, you’ll need to bring 500 gold as an offering. Clavicus Vile will task you with retrieving Umbra for him. The reward depends on your decision at the quest’s end. You can either return Umbra to Clavicus Vile and receive the Masque of Clavicus Vile, or keep the sword Umbra for yourself.
Hermaeus Mora
Hermaeus Mora’s Shrine is north of Sancre Tor, approximately halfway to Boreal Stone Cave, and situated between two wooden bridges. Gaining access to this quest requires reaching level 20 and, crucially, completing every other Daedric quest. This is the final Daedric quest you can undertake. His reward is the Oghma Infinium, an ancient tome that provides a significant boost to your character’s skills and attributes. Choose your enhancements carefully, as the book can only be used a limited number of times.
Hircine
Locate Hircine’s Shrine west of Cheydinhal and east of Charcoal Cave. It sits beside a pond along the Green Road, south of Pell’s Gate. You will need to be level 17 before you can start Hircine’s quest. He also requires either a Bear Pelt or a Wolf Pelt as an offering. Once you’ve pleased Hircine, you will receive the Savior’s Hide, a light armor cuirass that provides resistance to both magic and poison.
Malacath
Malacath’s Shrine is near Lord Drad’s Estate, which is northwest of Anvil. You need to reach level 10 before he will speak to you. The offering he requires is Troll Fat. This can be harvested from dead trolls, commonly found in caves and forests. Completing Malacath’s quest rewards you with Volendrung, a powerful warhammer known for its ability to paralyze opponents and drain their stamina.
Mephala
Mephala’s Shrine is located northeast of Bravil in the Great Forest. Look east of the Silver Road, halfway to the intersection of the Orange and Red Ring Roads. You must attain level 15 before initiating her quest. You must also provide one Nightshade flower. Completing her dark task awards you the Ebony Blade, a katana that absorbs the life force from its victims, growing stronger with each betrayal of a close companion.
Meridia
To find Meridia’s Shrine, head northwest of Skingrad’s west gate. You’ll find it between Cursed Mine and Shardrock farm. You need to be at least level 10 to start her quest. She will accept Bonemeal, Ectoplasm, or Mort Flesh as an offering. Completing her quest successfully earns you the Ring of Khajiiti, which grants invisibility and fortifies your speed, making it a valuable asset for stealthy characters.
Molag Bal
Molag Bal’s Shrine is east of Skingrad, southeast of Hackdirt, nestled in the heart of the Great Forest south of Narfinsel. The minimum level to begin this quest is 17. You are also required to offer a Lion Pelt. Completing his challenge provides the Mace of Molag Bal, a formidable mace that drains strength and magicka from your enemies, while simultaneously transferring their essence to the wielder.
Namira
Namira’s Shrine is located west of Bruma, northeast of the intersection of the Silver Road and Orange Road. The level requirement is level 5, but there’s a unique twist: your character’s Personality attribute must be lower than 20. If your Personality is too high, you’ll need to find ways to temporarily reduce it. Completing her quest rewards you with the Ring of Namira, which provides reflection of damage and fortifies your character’s fatigue.
Nocturnal
Nocturnal’s Shrine is between Leyawiin and Bravil, past Blankenmarch. The level requirement is level 10. There is no other specific offering needed. Successfully completing her quest will grant you the Skeleton Key. It is an unbreakable lockpick that significantly enhances your lockpicking skills. This allows you to open even the most challenging locks with ease. However, possessing the Skeleton Key means you will not be able to complete the Thieves Guild questline fully.
Peryite
Peryite’s Shrine is southeast of Bravil, on a small islet in Niben Bay, specifically on the south bank of the Silverfish River. You must be level 10 to interact with the shrine. You will need to offer one Imp Gall. Completing Peryite’s quest will grant you Spell Breaker, a shield that provides a powerful magical defense. It also absorbs spells, making it an invaluable tool against mages and magical creatures.
Sanguine
Sanguine’s Shrine is northwest of Skingrad, southeast of Fort Dirich, positioned at the edge of the treeline. You need to have reached level 8 to start the quest. The required offering is Cyrodilic Brandy. Upon completion, Sanguine will reward you with the Sanguine Rose. This powerful staff summons a Daedra to fight for you, adding a strong ally to your side during combat.
Sheogorath
Sheogorath’s Shrine is located southeast of Bravil. You only need to be level 2 to begin his quest. The required offerings are a Lesser Soul Gem, Lettuce, and Yarn. Completing Sheogorath’s amusing task grants you the Wabbajack. This unique staff has unpredictable effects, randomly transforming its target into various creatures or objects. It adds an element of chaos and amusement to combat.
Vaermina
Vaermina’s Shrine is situated north of Cheydinhal, on the shore of Lake Poppad. You’ll need to be at least level 5 to start her quest. She requires a Black Soul Gem as an offering. Successfully completing her mission earns you the Skull of Corruption. This staff creates a clone of a target, which can be used for various strategies in combat.
