Nine Sols: Health & Healing Guide

Nine Sols: A Guide to Boosting Health and Mastering Efficient Healing

In Nine Sols, mastering both combat and healing is crucial for survival. The game, deeply inspired by the Souls-like genre, presents a significant challenge, especially in the beginning when healing resources are limited. As you journey further, you’ll discover more ways to improve your health and increase your chances of victory in battle. This guide will explore how to maximize your health, expand your healing capabilities, and enhance the effectiveness of your recovery tools.

Enhancing Yi’s Health Bar

Yi’s maximum health can be permanently increased by finding Shennong. This crucial character becomes available after overcoming Yingzhao, the first major boss guarding the path to the Sol carrier Kuafu. Here’s how to find Shennong and get those vital health boosts:

  • Defeat Yingzhao: Progressing to the Lake Yaochi Ruins.
  • Navigate Yaochi Ruins: Locate Goumang, another Sol carrier. This encounter leads to Yi being dropped into the depths.
  • Find Shennong: Reach the bottom of the ruins to find him.
  • Provide Poisonous Items: Acquire these from Chiyou or through exploration.
  • Collect Medicinal Brews: Handing Shennong a poisonous item grants a Brew, which permanently increases your base health. You can trade more items for more Brews.

Increasing your health bar allows you to withstand more damage from enemies, granting you an increased chance of making it out of battles.

Expanding Healing Pipe Capacity

Besides maximizing your health, increasing the number of healing pipes you can carry is also extremely important. You’ll initially start with only two charges. The healing pipes act as your main method of recovering HP, similar to Estus Flasks in Dark Souls, and are replenished at Root Nodes, the game’s equivalent of bonfires. Increasing their capacity significantly improves your sustain.

  • Activate Ruyi: Do this at the Pavilion to restore power.
  • Craft Pipe Vials: Access the 3D Printer on the upper floor of the Pavilion.
  • Currency Cost: Crafting a Pipe Vial costs 1,000 in-game currency and grants one additional charge. Subsequent vials cost more, so manage resources carefully.

These extra charges are critical for tough boss fights or long exploration sections. You need to make sure to get these extra healing charges before entering challenging areas.

Boosting Healing Effectiveness

It is also important to increase how much health you recover with each use of your healing item, alongside expanding your health and carrying more healing charges. To do so, you’ll need to ensure Kuafu returns to the Pavilion following your initial encounter with Yingzhao.

  • Find Kuafu: He’s located near the 3D Printer on the first floor of the Pavilion.
  • Healing Upgrades: Interact with him to open the upgrade menu.
  • Herb Catalyst: An Herb Catalyst is needed, usually acquired after defeating bosses or discovering secret locations, alongside 800 currency for the initial upgrade.
  • Invest Wisely: The cost of the healing effectiveness upgrades stays the same, which makes this a reliable investment throughout your journey.

Improving healing efficiency is vital in the middle and late game, where enemy attacks get stronger and faster.

Stay Ahead of the Challenge

Effectively managing your health in Nine Sols is key to surviving. It will allow you to survive the game’s toughest challenges and trials. Boosting maximum health, expanding healing pipes, and improving healing output improves your survivability. Strategic exploration and smart upgrades prepares you for encounters with the formidable enemies that await.

  • Exploration: Thoroughly explore each area to discover hidden items.
  • Resource Management: Carefully manage your currency and other resources.
  • Enemy Knowledge: Learn enemy attack patterns to avoid unnecessary damage.
  • Upgrade Prioritization: Prioritize upgrades to your health and healing capacity.

By taking these factors into consideration, you’re well on your way to mastering the gameplay of Nine Sols.
