MWIII Season 3: New Content & Updates

Multiplayer Updates

New Game Modes

Season 3 delivers a fresh batch of game modes to Modern Warfare III Multiplayer. Prepare for intense objective-based combat with Capture the Flag, available at launch. Test your precision and skill in One in the Chamber, also available right away, where every shot counts. Later in the season, the chaotic Minefield will add a dangerous twist to familiar modes like Kill Confirmed and Domination. In Minefield, downed players drop proximity mines, turning the battlefield into a hazardous zone. Finally, Escort will task one team with safely delivering a MAW across the map while the other tries to stop them.

New Maps

Modern Warfare III’s map rotation receives a boost with six new additions in Season 3. Four maps are immediately available: 6 Star, Emergency, Growhouse, and Tanked, each offering distinct environments and tactical opportunities. Later in the season, players can expect two more maps, Checkpoint and Grime. These maps are particularly interesting, as they are re-purposed and adapted from Warzone POIs, making them feel both familiar and new. They have been specifically redesigned for the tighter confines of 6v6 matches.

New Perks and Equipment

Season 3 introduces innovative Perks and equipment to enhance your loadouts. The High-Gain Antenna gear zooms out your minimap and extends enemy radar visibility. The EMD Mine, arriving mid-season, is a tactical proximity mine that sticks trackers to enemies, revealing their location until removed. For those favoring secondary weapons, the Gunslinger Vest eliminates the primary weapon slot and doubles up on secondaries, improving reload speed, weapon swap speed, and granting maximum reserve ammo. The Modular Assault Rig Vest allows you to replenish Lethals and Tacticals from fallen enemies while the Compression Carrier Vest enhances healing. Rounding it out are the Reinforced Boots which grant immunity to movement-reducing effects.

Zombies

The Zombies storyline expands in Season 3, with a new Dark Aether chapter revolving around the rescue of Dr. Jansen. A newly opened gate leads to a previously unexplored region of the Dark Aether, adding a new layer of mystery and challenges. Players can also venture into a third Dark Aether Rift by finding and attuning specific relics scattered across the map. These Rifts hold unique schematics and secrets for those brave enough to explore them. New schematics include Dead Wire Detonators, Golden Mask Filter, and the Sergeant’s Beret. Plus, there are new Prestige Calling Card Challenges and Camo Challenges.

New Weapons

Arm your arsenal with four new weapons introduced in Season 3, available across both Warzone and Multiplayer modes. The FJX Horus is a submachine gun unlocked via the battle pass, sector 8. The MORS, a sniper rifle, is in sector 4 of the battle pass. The Gladiator, a melee weapon, is unlocked in sector 15 of the battle pass. The BAL-27, an assault rifle known for its unique firing pattern, will be added mid-season. These weapons add diverse tactical possibilities for different play styles and combat scenarios, ensuring there’s something for everyone to experiment with.

Warzone Update

Season 3 emphasizes teamwork in Warzone, rewarding squads that play together with increased XP and match rewards. Benefits include a Cash bonus and Supply UAVs, incentivizing coordinated gameplay and communication. But the biggest change is the return of a fan-favorite map:

  • Rebirth Island Returns: The beloved Rebirth Island is back, now occupied by the Konni Group. The familiar layout receives a visual refresh, with updated buildings and the addition of swimming mechanics.
  • Biometric Scanners: These new scanners in communications facilities offer Keycards when activated. These Keycards unlock exclusive menus in Rebirth Island Buy Stations. Scanning with squadmates increases the chance of a rarer Keycard.
  • Rebirth Modes:
    • Rebirth Resurgence: The classic mode returns with a smaller player count (44 players max).
    • Rebirth Resurgence Loaded: (Mid-Season) Players drop in with their preferred Loadouts.
    • Rebirth Lockdown: (Mid-Season) Multiple squads fight to control zones across Rebirth Island in a Hardpoint-style battle with custom loadouts.
  • New Public Events:
    • Infil Strike: Random airstrikes target POIs like the Lighthouse, Prison, and Water Tower, creating dynamic and dangerous landing zones.
    • Gulag Ascender: Players in the Gulag can now choose to climb ladders to the roof instead of fighting, securing redeployment for both if agreed upon.
  • New Equipment for Rebirth Island:
    • Squad Rage: A new version of Battle Rage that clears gas and grants Battle Rage effects to nearby squadmates.
    • Foresight: Reveals the location of all future gas circles.
    • Specialist Perk Package: Grants every Perk in the game until the end of the match. Extremely rare!
    • Weapon Trade System: Trade in a weapon for one of lesser rarity and some extra loot, potentially including the Specialist Perk.
