Last Epoch: Endgame Guide

Optimize Your Loot Filter

A well-configured loot filter is crucial for efficiency in Last Epoch’s endgame. It helps you sift through the abundant item drops, highlighting valuable items and hiding irrelevant ones. This saves considerable time and prevents your inventory from filling with unwanted gear. Optimizing your filter allows you to focus on acquiring build-defining pieces and high-value items for crafting or trading.

  • Start by hiding common base types that don’t fit your build.
  • Highlight items with specific affixes essential for your character.
  • Gradually refine the filter as you progress, targeting higher-tier affixes and unique items.
  • Consider using a community-made filter as a starting point and customize it to your needs.

Regularly update your filter to adapt to game changes and your character’s evolving requirements. A properly optimized loot filter will significantly streamline your endgame experience.

Utilize a Dump Tab in your Stash

Implementing a “dump tab” system in your stash significantly improves item management during extended gameplay sessions. Instead of meticulously sorting items as you acquire them, you can quickly transfer everything to a designated tab. This allows you to resume playing faster and maintain momentum. Designating one or two stash tabs specifically for this purpose can dramatically reduce downtime.

Here’s how it works:

  • Designate a stash tab as your “dump tab.”
  • Quickly transfer all newly acquired items into it.
  • Sort through the tab later, deciding what to keep, sell, or use for crafting.

By delaying the sorting process, you can maintain a more efficient farming pace and maximize your playtime. This is especially helpful when pushing high corruption levels.

Run Tomes of Experience Reward Echoes

Within the Monolith of Fate, keep an eye out for Echoes offering Tomes of Experience as rewards. These are particularly beneficial for leveling up your character’s Mastery level and gaining valuable Favor with the governing faction (Circle of Fortune or Merchant’s Guild). While other reward types exist, Tomes of Experience often provide the best balance of experience and favor gain per time invested.

Prioritize these echoes when they appear. While some may prefer different types of rewards like uniques or set items, this is a great way to help level up your character.

Run the Highest Corruption Possible

Corruption in the Monolith of Fate directly impacts the quality and quantity of rewards you receive. Increasing corruption increases monster difficulty, but it also significantly boosts the drop rates of exalted items, unique items, and items with Legendary Potential. This creates a risk-reward dynamic: higher corruption offers greater potential gains, but only if your build can handle the increased challenge. Pushing your character to higher levels of Corruption is a great way to improve the chance for better loot.

Before pushing too high, be sure that you can handle the content. If not, start at a lower Corruption, and work your way up, testing your limits.

Filter Prophecies

In the Circle of Fortune faction, prophecies are crucial for targeting specific items and outcomes. Don’t just accept any prophecy; carefully filter them based on your current needs and goals. For instance, if you’re seeking a new relic, focus on prophecies that increase the drop rate of exalted relics. Actively manage your prophecy slots by completing existing ones and acquiring new ones relevant to your current objectives.

This targeted approach allows you to leverage the Circle of Fortune system to maximize your chances of obtaining specific items or crafting materials. Prophecies can significantly reduce the time it takes to acquire sought-after gear.

Lenses for your Observatory

The Observatory, a Circle of Fortune feature, allows you to further customize your loot acquisition strategy by using lenses in your telescope. Prioritize blocking undesirable events or locations, such as Arena events or Dungeons, which may not be optimal for your goals. Then, focus on lenses that boost the drop rates of items you’re actively pursuing.

For example, use regional lenses to increase the chance of finding specific relic types or crafting materials within a particular region. Once you reach rank nine with the Circle of Fortune, the Refracting Lens of Wealth can double your rewards, further amplifying your gains.

Resistances

While capping your resistances (Fire, Cold, Lightning, Necrotic, Poison, and Physical) is important, prioritizing other defensive layers like Health, Ward (for classes that utilize it), and passive defenses can be more effective for overall survivability. In Last Epoch, monster level affects resistance penetration, meaning enemies at higher levels will effectively reduce your resistance values.

Focus on building a well-rounded defense, rather than relying solely on resistances. Things like Dodge, Armor, Block, or Endurance are also important stats to consider when deciding how to improve your defense.
