Link Tricks a Bokoblin Into Getting Crushed
The creativity of Tears of the Kingdom players knows no bounds. Beyond the impressive mechs and vehicles, players are also crafting hilarious traps and contraptions, turning their Hyrule adventures into a Looney Tunes cartoon.
One clever Reddit user, u/Youngstown_Mafia, shared a video of a Bokoblin falling victim to a cleverly crafted trap. After blinding the Bokoblin with a Zonai Mirror and snatching away its weapon, Link placed a rigged weapon in the Bokoblin’s path. When the Bokoblin picked up the weapon, it triggered a giant crate to fall, instantly crushing the enemy. The scene culminates in a satisfying explosion, leaving the Bokoblin in a heap of ashes.
Spring Is Here
Another example of a classic cartoon trap involves a Moblin being tricked into walking directly into a spring device. The Moblin, hot on Link’s trail, was lured into a well-placed spring, created using Zonai materials and wood. The satisfying crunch of the spring as the Moblin is launched into the air adds a comedic touch to the encounter.
Now This Is Podracing!
The creativity of players extends beyond simple traps. Reddit user meatswipe created a podracer straight out of Star Wars, complete with Zonai-powered fans, wheels, a wooden beam for steering, and other cleverly assembled parts. This impressive creation allows Link to zoom around the Tarrey Town race track, showcasing the versatility of the game’s building mechanics.
Fusing the Right Thing Can Send Enemies Flying
While Ultrahand is a popular tool for creating contraptions, Fuse also offers unique comedic possibilities. Twitter user @Jiikae discovered that fusing a Zonai Balloon to Link’s weapon sends enemies flying across the map. This unexpected consequence offers another delightful Looney Tunes-esque moment for players to experience.
Tick, Tick, Boom!
In a similar vein, iGV’s Brendan Graeber showcased a trap involving a Zonai Time Bomb attached to a weapon. The bomb detonates shortly after a Moblin picks up the weapon, resulting in the Moblin being launched off a cliff. This scenario perfectly embodies the game’s ability to create both satisfying and hilarious moments.
Crash Landing
Sometimes, the most amusing moments in Tears of the Kingdom occur when things go wrong. Twitter user @liccnuke shared a clip of Link attempting to haul a pile of explosive barrels on a Zonai wing. When the Zonai battery runs out of charge, the wing crashes to the ground, leading to a predictably explosive and humorous outcome.
Link Becomes a Horse Groomer
Beyond the traps and vehicles, players have even found a way to turn Link into a horse groomer. Twitter user @aquatic_ambi created a “Steed Sprayer Shower Service” where horses can get a good scrub. However, the horses don’t seem to appreciate the impromptu bath, leading to a hilarious scene of horses escaping and causing damage to the business. The clip demonstrates the comedic potential of even the simplest actions in Tears of the Kingdom.
