Fortnite’s Day of Doom is a limited-time mode pitting two teams against each other: the Avengers and Doom’s Henchmen. Up to 32 players are randomly assigned to one of these teams. The mode features regenerating health and shield for all players. Players are also immune to fall damage and have unlimited ammo. This mode has distinct objectives for each team. Both teams have differing loadouts and unique goals, leading to strategic play and varied tactics.

The Henchmen team must collect six Arcane Artifacts scattered across the map. Each artifact requires a 6-second interaction. The Henchmen have a total of 80 respawns, which deplete after collecting all the Artifacts. Winning requires eliminating all Avengers. Conversely, the Avengers need to prevent the Henchmen from collecting all the Artifacts and defeat all Henchmen, thereby depleting their respawns. Each time an Avenger respawns, they receive a random loadout from a selection of Avengers’ powers.
