The Basics of Fortnite Crafting
Fortnite Season 6 introduced a new crafting system that allows players to upgrade weapons using resources found throughout the map. This system adds a new layer of strategy and decision-making to the game, as players must choose which resources to collect and which weapons to upgrade. You can access your crafting menu through your Inventory tab, where you can view your resources and craft weapons. The crafting system revolves around makeshift weapons, which are the basic, weaker versions of weapons. These can be upgraded into Primal or Mechanical weapons using resources.
Fortnite Resources and How to Find Them
- Mechanical Parts: These are obtained from vehicles, both drivable and stationary, and from certain NPCs. The junkyard west of Dirty Docks is a good spot to find them, but it is also a popular landing spot for other players.
- Bones: These are found in the central area of the map, obtained by killing animals or breaking down structures in primal locations. They are harder to find in Team Rumble, as animals are currently disabled in that mode.
Mechanical versus Primal: What’s Better?
Players can choose between Primal or Mechanical weapons. Mechanical weapons are the classic Fortnite weapons that players are familiar with, such as Assault Rifles, Pump Shotguns, and SMGs. They are typically more accurate, but Primal weapons offer a higher fire rate and damage output. The choice between Primal and Mechanical ultimately comes down to personal preference and playstyle.
Assault Rifles: Mechanical ARs are generally better due to their superior first-shot accuracy, making them ideal for long-range engagements. Primal ARs have worse bloom, making it harder to hit shots consistently.
Close-Range Weapons: Primal shotguns and SMGs excel at close range, as bloom is less of a factor. The Primal Shotgun is considered very powerful and can shred through enemies quickly.
How to Get the Best Bows through Fortnite Crafting
Bows are a new weapon type introduced in Season 6, and they can be upgraded into specialized versions. Here’s how to craft the best bows:
- Mechanical Explosive Bow: Craft by combining a Mechanical Bow with 6 Grenades. This bow deals high damage and has explosive arrows, making it effective for both direct damage and area of effect attacks.
- Mechanical Shockwave Bow: Craft by combining a Mechanical Bow with 2 Shockwave Grenades. This bow launches shockwaves that can knock back enemies or launch players into the air, making it a useful tool for crowd control and tactical movement.
- Primal Flame Bow: Craft by combining a Primal Bow with 1 Gas Can or 1 Firefly Jar. This bow fires flaming arrows that deal fire damage over time and can ignite structures, making it a potent tool for dealing with enemies and clearing objectives.
- Primal Stink Bow: Craft by combining a Primal Bow with 3 Stink Fish or 1 Stink Sac. This bow fires arrows that release a cloud of stinky gas that damages enemies and slows them down, making it ideal for controlling areas and disrupting enemy movement.
Endnote
The crafting system in Fortnite Season 6 provides a new way for players to customize their loadouts and experiment with different weapons. By collecting the right resources and crafting the best weapons, players can gain a competitive advantage and have more fun exploring the new meta.
