Why level up your Steam account?

Leveling your Steam account offers various benefits. By default, your Steam account allows up to 250 friends. With each level gained, you get five more friend slots.

Achieving a 10-level increase grants you one showcase slot. These slots enable customization of your Steam profile with game highlights, achievements, screenshots, and more.

For every 10 levels gained beyond this, another showcase slot is added, up to a maximum of 20 slots. Another advantage of having a high-level account is that your profile is prioritized at the top of the friends list when viewed.

Leveling up your Steam account

To boost your Steam account’s level, you must accumulate XP. XP can be earned through game purchases, badge crafting, and upgrades.

The XP earned from purchasing games alone is minimal. However, by purchasing a game and obtaining its trading cards, you can craft badges and increase your account’s level.

Playing a game and collecting its trading cards adds them to your Steam inventory. Crafting a badge from all collected cards awards 100 XP. Each badge can be upgraded up to five times, yielding a total of 500 XP per game.

Half of the trading cards are obtained through drops, while the rest can be traded with friends or purchased from the Steam market. Utilizing gift cards is the most cost-effective method to add funds to your Steam wallet for purchasing trading cards.

Joining the “Steam Trading Cards Group,” a large community on Steam, provides ample opportunities to acquire trading cards and advance your account’s level.

Various achievements on Steam also reward badges and XP. For instance, completing all Steam Community tasks earns the “Community Leader” badge, yielding 500 XP.

The XP required per level on Steam increases with each level gained. For levels 1 to 10, 100 XP is needed per level. From levels 11 to 20, this requirement doubles to 200 XP per level, and it continues to rise by 100 XP per level every subsequent ten levels.

Consequently, leveling up becomes progressively more challenging as your Steam account advances.

Conclusion

Crafting badges using trading cards remains the most effective strategy for leveling up your Steam account. Whether through trading or purchasing from the Steam market, aim for the most cost-efficient card sets.

When buying cards, consider sorting them by price to find the most affordable sets. Be cautious of third-party websites that claim to offer cheap card sets, as some may pose security risks. Avoid sharing personal information or clicking on suspicious links to safeguard your account and data.
