This is particularly true for Alliance players due to the scarcity of level-appropriate quests. However, Horde players can also benefit significantly from this approach. Fly to Camp Mojache in Feralas to turn in prequests, and take quests for extra experience. Head to Brackenwall Village, Dustwallow Marsh, complete the quests there. Use summons/portals to Grom’gol in Stranglethorn Vale. If you don’t have Dark Rider relics, fly to Booty Bay. Otherwise, visit the Dalaran Agent in Deadwind Pass first. This will give you an ideal start to dungeon grinding.
Level 43 – Gnomeregan Dungeon (1 Run, Total 40,620 XP)
Around level 43, Gnomeregan becomes an efficient source of experience and gear. Obtain quests from Booty Bay/Orgrimmar and then head to Gnomeregan. You can complete ‘The Mad King’, and ‘A Fine Mess’ quests. You can also get a quest in the raid for ‘Rig Wars.’ Hearth to Kargath after the Gnomeregan run. Complete the quests like, ‘Set Them Ablaze!’ and ‘Broken Alliances’. Before moving on, grab quests for Uldaman like ‘ULDAMAN: Power Stones quest at Rigglefuzz in Badlands’.
Level 43 – Uldaman Dungeon (2 runs, Total 41,850 x 2 XP)
Running Uldaman a couple of times at level 43 can provide significant experience and gear upgrades. During the first run, complete quests: ‘Necklace Recovery’, ‘Take 2’, and ‘Solution to Doom’. Also, grab the quest: ‘News for Fizzle’ for later turn-in. Additional turn-ins can be done in the second run. Then take the Zepplin/Portal to Undercity, and pick up ‘Reclaimed Treasures’, ‘A Donation of Silk’, and ‘A Donation of Mageweave’. Next, complete the Gnomeregan turn-ins such as ‘The Mad King’, and ‘Rig Wars’.
Level 44 – Zul’ Farrak Dungeon (From Level 44 onwards, Total 36,250 XP)
From level 44 onwards, Zul’Farrak is your main leveling dungeon. Prepare yourself by doing the quests in Gadgetzan such as ‘Caliph Scorpidsting’, and ‘Slake that Thirst’. Pick up the quest ‘ZUL’FARRAK: Gahz’rilla’ in Shimmering Flats. From now, keep doing the Zul’Farrak dungeon and complete the dungeon quests (‘Divinomatic Rod’, ‘Scarab Shells’, ‘Troll Temper’).
Alliance 40-50 Dungeon Leveling & Pre-Quests
Alliance players face a different landscape, requiring careful planning. Dungeon grinding remains the primary leveling strategy due to fewer available quests. Prioritize pre-quests that offer substantial experience and are conveniently located near dungeon entrances. It is important to be prepared for dungeon grinding. Completing the pre-quests will give you the extra edge for your journey.

Level 41 – Prequest Runs for Gnomeregan
Starting at level 41, Alliance players need to gather pre-quests for Gnomeregan and other dungeons. Set your hearth to Booty Bay to start. Then, you can do the quests: ‘Tooga’s Quest’, ‘Andre Firebeard’, and ‘Ship Schedules’ from Steamwheedle Port, Tanaris. Move to Gadgetzan to do quests. Ideally, get a port to Darnassus and do quests. If you have Green Hills to turn in, ride to Nesingwary. If not, skip this turn-in section. Now you can do the quests in Stormwind and Searing Gorge.
Level 42 – Gnomeregan Dungeon (1 Run, Total 40,620 XP)
After getting all the Gnomeregan quests, do Gnomeregan dungeon. During the dungeon, you can do the ‘Grime-Encrusted Ring’ quest at the safe area. Head to IF after Gnomeregan is complete. There are also other IF quests related to Gnomeregan. Before heading to the next dungeon, you can pick up quests related to Uldaman. When you have collected all the Uldaman quests, go to Badlands, do quests there.
Level 43 – Uldaman Dungeon (1 run, Total XP)
At level 43, Uldaman is an important dungeon for Alliance players. During the run, complete/continue, and turn in quests such as ‘Back to Uldaman’, ‘Find the Gems’, ‘The Lost Dwarves’, and ‘The Platinum Discs’. After the dungeon, return to Badlands and complete the ‘Power Stones’ quest. You can also ride to Loch Modan and finish quests such as ‘Uldaman Reagent Run’. Head to Stormwind, Ironforge, and Booty Bay and collect quests. Now, head to Zul’Farrak!
Level 43 – Zul’ Farrak Dungeon (1 run, Total XP)
At Zul’Farrak dungeon, complete these quests: ‘Divinomatic Rod’, ‘Scarab Shells’, and ‘Troll Temper’. ‘The Prophecy of Mosh’aru’, ‘Gahzrilla’, and ‘Zanzil’s Mixture and a Fool’s Stout’. ‘Tiara of the Deep’. Do not forget to train at the right time.
40 to 42 Leveling Spot – Swamp of Sorrows
For those who prefer traditional leveling, the Swamp of Sorrows provides a decent starting point. From level 40 to 42, spiders are ideal targets. The spiders respawn quickly which makes them ideal targets. This zone is suitable for classes with good AoE abilities.
40 to 43 Leveling Spot – Murlocs / Badlands
Murlocs offer another option for leveling from 40 to 43. However, caution is advised, especially for those without raid gear. Players can pull more Murlocs if they have raid gear. At level 43, venturing into the Badlands provides access to rapid respawn rates. This is most efficient if you do dungeons and questing.
43 to 50 Leveling Spot – Tanaris
At level 43, it’s time to go to Tanaris. Initially, focus on killing humans or hyenas. At level 45, start with pirates. The pirates respawn quickly. Starting at level 48, ogres provide a solid experience boost. Remember to eliminate Caster Warlocks first before pulling.
