The next major patch of World of Warcraft is Update 11.1 Undermined. We have compiled all the information for you.

Blizzard recently unveiled exciting news during the Warcraft Direct, discussing the upcoming content for World of Warcraft. Although patch 11.0.7 was only released a few weeks ago, the adventure continues seamlessly with the next update. Patch 11.1, titled Lorenhalt (in English: “Undermine(d)”), takes players to the bustling capital of the goblins: Undermine (known as Lorenhall in German).

The most important things at a glance:

  • Patch 11.1 Lorenhalt does not yet have a release date, but it is expected to be the end of February 2025.
  • There is a new raid with 8 bosses, Liberation of Lorenhall.
  • There is a new dungeon, Operation: Lock.
  • Season 2 of The War Within begins with the patch.
  • There are new tier sets that share some bonuses.
  • Turbo cars serve as new mounts that control like carts (with drift, acceleration, etc.).
  • The patch brings several revisions of classes, so hunters get a big rework.

What is Lorenhall?

Lorenhall is the now legendary capital of the goblins. So far, it has only been mentioned in quest texts and NPC stories, but now the city is finally being made accessible as a new area.

This is the center of all goblins and the biggest trade cartels are in permanent conflict here to gain supremacy:

  • Vapor pressure
  • Blackwater
  • Bilgewater
  • Venture Co.

You can join one of these factions and fight for that cartel to show the rest of Undermine which goblin boss has the most powerful champions.

The area will be quite urban with technology (and lots of explosions) everywhere – after all, that’s exactly what Goblins are known for.

The leaders of the goblins want your help – but who will you join?

New Mount: A Turbo Car

Goblins don’t fit dragons or gryphons. Instead, you need thick carts that squeak properly, are not quite as good for the environment and have been pimped up by a lot of upgrades.

In Undermine, you get a new “mount” at your disposal – namely a fancy car. You can modify and adapt this. Your changes not only have visual effects, but also playful ones: You can adjust whether you want a higher maximum speed, can drift better in a curve or have better traction. The car will not behave like a normal ground mount, but will be much more dynamic – similar to kite riding in the air.

Overall, this car is significantly faster than ordinary ground mounts, so you basically always want to use your cart to speed through the streets of Undermine.

New Dungeon: Operation Lock

The dungeon is themed around an attempt by the goblins to flood the Resounding Depths by blowing up the dam there. The heroes (of course) have to prevent this.

The dungeon will also be immediately part of the new “Mythic+” rotation that starts with Season 2.

WoW Operation Floodgate Dungeon
In the new dungeon, you have to prevent the Resounding Depths from being flooded.

Also part of the rotation will be “THE GIANT SEAM!!”, a dungeon that many may still know from Battle for Azeroth. It just fits wonderfully with the goblin theme.

New Raid: The Liberation of Lorenhall

The new raid of patch 11.1 is “The Liberation of Undermine” (to German approx. “The Liberation of Lorenhall”). There are a total of 8 bosses here, which is currently the average length of raids. The final boss is none other than Gallywix, who now reappears after his disappearance at the end of Battle for Azeroth – because he survived and apparently retreated to his old homeland.

Since the raid is mainly about the goblin theme, Blizzard has a lot of room for crazy ideas – such as a weapon that is directly called best-in slots – and is therefore certainly wanted by many.

The new tier sets are also somewhat criticized. Some fans consider them uncreative, as several classes and specializations share almost the same bonuses.

What else is in patch 11.1?

Apart from all the highlights, there are also a lot of little things that are probably not relevant for all players – but should make a certain niche happy.

  • In addition to the large content presented, the patch also brings a few smaller innovations. There are 2 new depths (“Delves”) and all existing depths receive new variations.
  • Brann Bronzebeard is getting seasonal updates. Apparently, the plan to get a new companion every season has been scrapped – instead, Brann is now being reworked a bit by getting new goblin trinkets. Similar to Zek’vir, there will be a big deep final boss again.
  • Swirly effects are getting a new, more visually distinct variant. In the future, you can see exactly how big the effects are on the ground.
  • With potions, you can adjust the size of your character much more finely in the future.
  • Warbands can unlock new backgrounds for the Campfire Camp.
  • There is finally a way to reset your professional knowledge to learn new things.

When will patch 11.1 be released? There is no exact release date for Patch 11.1 Undermined yet. However, the roadmap shows that the patch is scheduled to be released relatively early in 2025, probably sometime between January and March. If Blizzard keeps up the current rhythm, it should be ready as early as February.
