A new round of nerfs will soon go live in World of Warcraft. If you still want to defeat Queen Ansurek with full strength, you have to hurry.
Even though the race for the World First Kill in World of Warcraft: The War Within is long over, Blizzard does not seem to be satisfied with the difficulty of the final boss yet. This Wednesday (10/16/2024) there’s a big round of adjustments coming up – all of which are very direct nerfs. Both the mythic and heroic modes of Queen Ansurek, the final boss in the Palace of the Nerub-ar, are affected.
What will be changed?
Quite a lot. Both the boss’s health points are reduced, but also many of their abilities are simplified. For example, there are occasionally longer cast times (and thus more time to react) or simply a reduction in the damage dealt, so that mistakes can be ironed out more often.
Changes to Queen Ansurek on Heroic
- Foaming Toxin deals 15% less damage.
- Dark Strike deals 15% less damage.
- When calculating how many targets are selected by Foaming Toxin, only living characters count towards this calculation.
Changes to Queen Ansurek on Mythic
- Queen Ansurek’s health has been reduced by 5%.
- Foaming Toxin deals 26.7% less damage.
- Silk Grave has 20% less health.
- Snatch deals 25% less damage.
- The maximum size of Packing Silk has been reduced by 10%.
- Shadowgate cast time increased by 20%.
- Dark Strike deals 25% less damage.
- Acolyte Essence’s periodic damage has been reduced by 15%.
- Reduced the duration of Essence Scarred by 50%.
- Royal Judgment deals 10% less damage.
- Summoned Acolyte health and barrier have been reduced by 15%.
- Royal Shackles health has been reduced by 15%.
- When calculating how many targets are selected by Foaming Toxin, only living characters count towards this calculation.
So if you still want to defeat Queen Ansurek in full force, you’ll have to do it later today – or benefit from the nerfs starting tomorrow.
Are there more nerfs coming?
Yes, even if only indirectly and not via hotfixes. Starting Wednesday, it will also be possible to complete a repeatable quest at the entrance to the raid. With each completion of the quest, your character’s power increases, so the raid gets a little easier with each passing week. This should help groups that are struggling with problems and despair of some bosses so far.
Even though The War Within has only been live for a few weeks, some groups will have to hurry to defeat the Nerub-ar raid palace. Because in a few days, patch 11.0.5 will come and bring a “new, old” raid that beckons with many additional rewards and will probably focus the attention of the guilds.
