Warframe Rank-Up Guide: iGV

How to Rank Up in Warframe Methodically

This guide will meticulously detail how to ascend through Warframe’s Mastery Ranks, maximizing your progress and unlocking powerful rewards. Whether you’re a seasoned Tenno or a newcomer, understanding the intricacies of Mastery will streamline your journey.

How do I increase my Mastery Rank?

Mastery Rank progression hinges on achieving Rank 30 with diverse items. This encompasses Warframes, weapons, companions, and archwings. Completing mission nodes or Junctions for the first time on any planet also contributes to your progress. Monitoring your player profile will show your current Rank and the required Mastery points for the next. Crucially, mastering each item necessitates a Mastery Test, which must be successfully completed before you can advance to the next Rank. These tests are time-sensitive and only allow one attempt per 24 hours. Thankfully, practice versions are available in Cephalon Simaris’s room for thorough preparation.

Why is Mastery Rank important?

Mastery Rank unlocks a plethora of content, not just bragging rights. Content like Warframes, weapons, specific quests, and even entire planets or relays are Mastery-locked. Essentially, you can’t access them without the necessary Mastery Rank. Furthermore, higher Ranks grant increased benefits, including more daily trades, larger base mod capacities for your equipment, and higher caps on daily Syndicate standing and Focus points.

Is there a limit to how quickly I can rank up?

While you can earn Mastery points daily without limitation, your Rank increment is capped at one level per 24-hour period. The Mastery test, a prerequisite for advancement, restricts your progress to one attempt per day.

What happens to the Mastery points I gain while waiting to take my next Mastery test?

Any Mastery points accumulated while you’re at a Rank that prevents immediate progression will automatically carry over to the next Rank once you complete the required Mastery test. You won’t lose progress; it simply awaits the next opportunity for advancement.

Can I use a Forma to gain more Mastery points after an item has reached Rank 30?

No. Mastery points are tied to the initial ranking of an item. Resettling or re-ranking an item via Forma does not grant additional Mastery points.

Can I gain Mastery points from duplicate items?

Duplicating and ranking up an already mastered item won’t increase your Mastery points. However, different variants of the same item (e.g., different Boltor variants) are considered distinct and will each grant points when reaching Rank 30. This is vital when acquiring many weapons and Warframes.

Rising Through the Ranks

Beginning with just a few Warframes and weapons, mastering new items and their associated skills becomes essential for progression. New frames and weapons are unlocked as you progress, meaning your playstyle will diversify, allowing you to explore the depth of the game. As you rise through the Ranks, you’ll unlock progressively challenging content and experiences that add to the overall Warframe journey.
