How does Leveling Up work in Warframe?
Warframe’s leveling system is unique. Unlike many other games, almost every piece of gear, including your Warframe, weapons, companions, and archwings, has its own level and levels up independently. You level up each piece of gear by equipping it during missions and gaining Affinity, Warframe’s version of experience points. You gain Affinity by scoring kills with that equipment or completing mission objectives. This means your equipped gear will level up at different rates depending on the kills you make. For example, if you primarily score melee kills, expect your melee weapon to level up the fastest.
The maximum level for equipment is Rank 30. Once a piece of equipment reaches Rank 30, you can’t level it up any further. You can reset it to Rank 0 by using a Forma, but it will only be able to reach Rank 30 before hitting that max level cap again. Endless Void Fissure missions, such as Defense, Survival, or Excavation, are also great for leveling up. The first interval and every five intervals afterward will grant a stacking boost to Affinity gained during that mission.

Fortunately, weapon kills also grant 50% of the Affinity gained to your Warframe. So, you can still level up your Warframe by using your weapons to score kills. Additionally, 25% of the Affinity from kills made by nearby allies goes to your Warframe, so sticking close to your squad will help you level up faster.
How can I quickly Level Up my weapons?
Leveling up your weapons is relatively straightforward: kill enemies with that weapon. When playing with a squad, you can earn even more Affinity by unequipping your other weapons, allowing your remaining weapons to gain more Affinity from your squadmates’ kills.
However, the most effective way to quickly level up your weapons is to take advantage of the Stealth Affinity Multiplier. This multiplier increases the Affinity gained from each kill by 100% for every consecutive kill made against an unaware enemy within 30 seconds, up to 500%. Naturally stealthy weapons, such as silent bows or melee weapons, benefit greatly from this multiplier. However, even with a noisy weapon, you can still score stealth kills using Warframe abilities that deafen enemies. For example, Equinox’s Rest & Rage or Banshee’s Silence can be used to create stealth kills. Chaining these stealth kills together during high-level Exterminate missions will grant massive amounts of Affinity, making leveling up weapons a breeze.
