TOTK Guide: Crucial Exploration Upgrades

Unlock the Purah Pad’s Full Potential With These Key Upgrades

Camera

Unlocking the Purah Pad’s camera is a significant step in enhancing your exploration. After obtaining the paraglider, you’ll trigger the “Camera Work in the Depths” main quest. This quest sends you into The Depths, a challenging environment. Be cautious of the Gloom, a hazardous substance that can harm you. Successfully finding Robbie in the depths will activate the camera function. Now, you can capture photos, input them into the Hyrule Compendium, and even use the camera to help with specific quest objectives. This crucial addition significantly aids in progressing through the game by facilitating identification of necessary items and objects.

Autobuild

Autobuild is a game-changing Purah Pad upgrade for players tired of repeatedly rebuilding their creations. This feature instantly recreates your Ultrahand projects, effortlessly using nearby items and Zonaite. The History tab saves up to 30 of your previous creations. Moreover, it allows you to save favorites, and unlock new invention schematics. To unlock Autobuild, complete “A Mystery in the Depths,” a main quest triggered after “Camera Work in the Depths.” Additionally, you must have completed at least one Temple during the Regional Phenomena Questline. Finding the giant structure near the Great Abandoned Central Mine will reveal the construct who provides you with this ability.

Shrine Sensor

The Shrine Sensor is a game-changer for Shrine-hunting. This Purah Pad upgrade provides visual and audio alerts when you approach a Shrine. To unlock it, first complete “A Mystery in the Depths,” and then proceed to the Hateno Village Research Lab. Inside, Robbie will upgrade your Purah Pad with the Sensor after a short trial run at the Mayahisik Shrine. This intuitive addition significantly streamlines Shrine discovery, helping you uncover all the hidden secrets across Hyrule and the sky islands.

Don’t Miss These Additional Side Adventure Upgrades

Fast Travel Medallion

The Fast Travel Medallion is a game-altering addition to your Purah Pad. Originating from Breath of the Wild, this feature lets you freely drop fast travel points almost anywhere in Hyrule, with terrain limitations. You’ll need to acquire the Travel Medallion Prototype to proceed with this upgrade. The prototype is discovered in the Akkala region; subsequently, returning to Robbie at the Hateno Village Research Lab will allow the installation of the Medallion onto your Purah Pad. Additionally, the number of fast travel points you can place can be increased by mapping regions. Completing Skyview Tower locations grants additional charges for the Travel Medallion.

Hero’s Path Mode

The Hero’s Path Mode delivers a unique overview of your Hyrule journey. This feature tracks your entire path, including your deaths, and can store up to 256 hours of gameplay. Toggling this function is easily done by pressing X on your map. To unlock this, Robbie needs data from 15 Shrines; if the data is already present, he’ll initiate the upgrade automatically. A detailed guide on how to unlock this is available online.

Sensor +

Sensor + is the upgraded version of the Sensor feature. This powerful addition allows you to locate any item or entity that appears in your Hyrule Compendium. Robbie will request the inclusion of five distinct monster types in your compendium to initiate this upgrade. Capture photos of monsters, to add them to your Hyrule Compendium.
