Pokémon Unite Roster Recommendations

The current Pokemon Unite roster is solid, but expanding it would enhance the competitive metagame. This article suggests compelling additions, analyzing their potential strengths and roles within the game.

Emboar

Gen V Pokemon, despite their unique designs, are underrepresented in Pokemon Unite. Adding a strong defender from this generation would be beneficial. Emboar, the evolved form of Tepig, is an ideal candidate. He possesses inherent defensive capabilities and could be tailored with offensive abilities to distinguish him from other defenders. This would also cater to the need for more fire-type options in the game, a niche currently underserved.

Mewtwo

While several Gen I Pokemon are already featured, Mewtwo, the iconic first legendary, remains absent. Mewtwo’s popularity and distinct Psychic-type abilities would bring exciting gameplay opportunities. A strong Psychic-type Pokemon, particularly a legendary, would likely prove impactful in the existing meta. The addition of Mewtwo might introduce a flow of other legendary Pokemon into the roster but careful design would ensure they aren’t overpowered.

Celebi

Johto, Gen II, is another generation underrepresented in Pokemon Unite. Adding a supportive role from this generation could significantly benefit the roster. Celebi, with its unique speed and healing abilities, would be a powerful addition to the supporter role. Its speed and healing would create a distinct playstyle different from existing supporters. The contrast to existing supporters might significantly change how people strategize.

Keldeo

Pokemon Unite lacks representation from Gen V. Keldeo, embodying a chivalrous, justice-oriented persona, would fit the game’s atmosphere perfectly. Adding another agile attacker, with unique special abilities, would be a unique addition. Keldeo’s presence wouldn’t just be a visual upgrade, it would introduce a new combat style and strategies. This would create a fresh perspective for players.

Lycanroc

Adding Lycanroc, a wolf-like Pokemon, would bring a welcome Rock-type option to the roster. Lycanroc would provide a robust, all-around option for the role. This unique addition would not only increase diversity but also offer a distinctive combat experience. Lycanroc’s defensive capabilities, along with strategic offensive moves, would challenge the current metagame. Lycanroc’s inclusion might inspire more Rock-type Pokemon to join the game.

These suggestions are intended to offer fresh perspectives for Pokemon Unite, fostering a more diverse and engaging competitive environment. The inclusion of these Pokemon would hopefully broaden the strategy possibilities and the appeal of the game. By adding more Pokemon from different generations and types, players will discover new tactics and enjoy different fighting styles.
