Pokémon Scarlet/Violet Patch: More Bug Fixes

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Ver. 1.3.0 Patch Notes

Nintendo has released patch 1.3.0 for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, addressing a multitude of reported bugs that have been plaguing the games since launch. This update, available on the Nintendo website, focuses primarily on bug fixes, but also subtly tweaks the Friendly Competitions feature. The patch aims to enhance the overall gaming experience by rectifying numerous glitches impacting various aspects of the game, from online battles to in-game connectivity. This update promises to improve the player experience and rectify some of the frustrations reported by players.

Feature Adjustments

The most notable adjustment is the revised entry deadline for Friendly Competitions. Previously, entries closed when the competition started. Now, entries are permitted until the competition’s scheduled end time, providing players more flexibility to join these online battles. This is a significant improvement to the user experience, as players can more efficiently participate in these events without any time constraints. This means players can join a Friendly Competition without worrying about missing the cut-off time.

Bug Fixes

Link Battles

  • A critical fix addresses a bug where selecting “Swap In” just before the timer expired could fail to switch Pokémon, disrupting battle progression.
  • The remaining battle time indicator, which disappeared under a certain threshold, is now functional.
  • The time players had to select their next Pokémon following a Pokémon’s defeat was incorrectly reduced in some scenarios. This issue is now resolved.

Battles

  • The Cud Chew Ability, which was mistakenly triggering twice per turn, is now functioning as intended. The game accurately respects the intended usage.
  • A bug related to Zoroark’s Terastallization with the Illusion Ability has been corrected. The Terastallization type now correctly displays as Zoroark’s Tera Type.
  • A similar bug involving Zoroark disguising itself as a Terastallized Pokémon was also fixed. Zoroark’s displayed type will correctly reflect its own Terastallization type, avoiding inaccurate type representations.
  • Double Battle encounters now correctly handle stat changes when a user hits opposing Pokémon with a move, even with the use of Substitutes. This resolves instances of stat changes triggering twice.

Pokémon GO Connectivity

  • A critical connectivity issue where connecting to Pokémon GO caused the game to crash has been rectified. This will allow players to seamlessly connect to Pokémon GO without any disruptions or instability.

Other

  • The Hisuian Zoroark, obtainable as preorder DLC for the “Hidden Treasure of Area Zero” expansion, was causing a Pokédex malfunction for some players. This particular display bug is now fixed.
  • A broader range of other bugs have been addressed, enhancing the overall stability and playability of the game. This comprehensive fix ensures a smooth and uninterrupted gaming experience for all.

This timely update signals Nintendo’s ongoing commitment to address the concerns and improve the overall user experience of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The continued support through these patches is a positive indication of their dedication to improving the game’s quality and performance.
