What kind of feature is this?
In Path of Exile 2 there are many innovations, systems and mechanics that were not yet available in the predecessor. The Dodgeroll and the Movement are even the best innovation for many players. However, one feature in the game is somewhat hidden.
The weapon set change is something that probably only a few have ever used. In Path of Exile 2, you can carry around two different weapon sets and switch to another set when fighting difficult bosses, for example, which makes the fight easier.
However, this feature also offers another feature, the weapon set skill points. During the game, you can split up some of your skill points. For example, you can go for Fire damage in one of your weapon sets and Electro damage in the other. But the system can also be used creatively, as one player is now proving.
Stronger and faster thanks to weapon sets
How can the feature be used? The weapon set feature is probably not used by most players because their own build copes well with all kinds of content. If it is also unused for you, you can get a big advantage for your character.
User Thorriorz on Reddit explains how to do it. He has equipped his previously unused weapon set with a “Wulfsbane” shield.
This shield enchants the enemy on a successful block, causing them to take 10% more damage and deal 10% less damage. According to the user, this effect lasts for the duration of the entire battle.
What do you do with the skill points?
You can also make your character stronger in terms of skill points without playing two really different builds.
As user jamaljermaine explains on Reddit, the additional points can be used well to skill skills such as movement speed, block chance or light radius.
Especially when you can expect large maps without boss enemies again, changing the weapon set can bring additional movement speed. If a strong opponent does appear, you have your usual weapon set back by pressing the X key.
Which skill points are most worthwhile for you depends on the build of your character. If you don’t know what’s worth it, movement speed should probably be a thing that always helps.
