One dedicated Diablo 4 player has grinded all the way to Paragon level 300 in the new season, only to conclude that the effort is hardly worth it. Many in the community share the same sentiment, questioning the rewards for such an intense grind. If you’re looking to enhance your experience without the tedious grind, you can Buy Diablo 4 Gold to speed up your progress and enjoy the best gear, upgrades, and resources without the hassle.
In Diablo 4, you reach the maximum character level at level 60, after which the grind for Paragon levels begins. In total, you can collect 300 Paragon points for your Paragon tablets to further improve your character. However, the grind is extremely time-consuming – and the reward is limited, many players find.
In a post on Reddit, Mr_Juicer reports on his grind to Paragon level 300 in Season 7, which has been running since January 21, 2025. Last season he made it to level 240, now he wanted to have the certainty of making it at least once. Especially from level 270 onwards, it became very boring, as he did the same activities over and over again.
How did the player reach the highest level?
He spent his time primarily in the Hell Hordes. He advises listening to music or otherwise letting himself be sprinkled on the side, which makes the grind easier. He also used the Group Finder in Diablo 4 to do a number of Hell Horde runs without having to consume many seals himself.
While he could have leveled up faster in the pit, his Bloodwave Necro was just too slow for the high pit levels. “[Hellhordes] might have been comparatively slower, but it was easier to have a gameplay loop that didn’t burn me out,” he explains.
When asked how long the leveling took in total, he writes that there are over 300 hours in his Necro alone. The pure XP grind cost him about 180+ hours. He spent a lot of time trying to find a group in the first place. “The places were always gone quickly,” he notes.
“There’s really no reason to do it”
Why is it hardly worth the effort? .
The creator of the post explains that he will probably never do this again – just for his “mental health”. For level 300 alone, you have to collect 1 billion XP, he notes.
He finds the rewards for this disappointing. Specifically, he writes:
A mount trophy and mount are a bit meagre considering how much work it is. […]
Why isn’t there at least exclusive cosmetics or a chest with a guaranteed mythic unique of your choice, so that you have a tangible memory of the achievement? Just an idea.
A permanent UI change for Paragon level 300 would also be really cool – e.g. a golden border around the character or something! Instead of just saying “Level 300: 0/0 experience”.
Here’s what the community has to say about it: In the comments, users discuss the long grind. ShootHotHug says, “There’s no real incentive other than the pride of doing it. The mount is a joke, so something like a special frame, a unique cosmetic item, or a pet would definitely be worth it.”
Extension-Lie-3272 writes: “I’m at 270 and I don’t see any reason to continue… My character is running great, and the board maybe gives me +30 to a desired value? Everything I need is done.” And the creator of the post replies, “yes, apart from Paragon points, there’s really no reason to do it.”
In the comments, Mr_Juicer points out that you can also collect the 300 Paragon levels on the eternal realm, as the achievement and cosmetics are unlocked account-wide anyway. So you don’t have any time pressure, but you also don’t benefit from seasonal XP buffs or the like.
To level up to Paragon level 300 in Diablo 4, it makes sense to play a build that allows you to get through the activities quickly. Other players, on the other hand, prefer to have to pay as little attention as possible to rotations or enormous damage.
