Embarking on solo boss farming in New World: Aeternum offers a fantastic way to accumulate wealth. Many open-world bosses drop valuable Bind-on-Equip (BoE) items that can be sold on the Trading Post for significant amounts of gold. This guide focuses on six specific bosses that are easily manageable solo, even for players with average gear at max level. Before dedicating your time to any specific boss, it’s always wise to check current prices on your server’s Trading Post. Item values fluctuate, so identifying which drops are most profitable will help you maximize your earnings. This strategy allows you to target specific high-value items or diversify your farm for a broader range of sellable goods.
Tips & Tricks
To maximize your gold earnings and efficiency while farming these solo bosses, a few key strategies can significantly boost your profits:
- Equip Luck Gear and Food: Always wear your highest luck gear and consume luck-enhancing food. This increases your chances of better quality drops, including those coveted BoE items.
- Gathering Gear Swaps: If you plan to gather resources between boss spawns, quickly switch to your max-level gathering gear. This enhances your yield from mining, harvesting, or logging, adding another layer of income.
- PvP Mode: Activating PvP mode grants a flat luck bonus. If you choose this, or if you’re new and still learning, consider setting up a camp nearby the boss spawn point. This provides a convenient respawn location should you fall in battle.
- Utilize Daily Potions: These boss farms are perfect opportunities to consume your daily Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion, allowing you to earn extra Topaz Gypsum Orbs for gear progression.
- Music Buffs: Don’t forget to use your territory standing music buff for faster standing gains. Alternatively, other music buffs can provide beneficial combat or utility boosts that align with your farming goals.
Boss Introduction
Now, let’s dive into the specifics of these six gold-generating bosses, detailing their drops, locations, and solo strategies.
Sesa (Weaponsmith Shoes)
Sesa is a fantastic starting point for solo farming, primarily sought after for the Weaponsmith Shoes. This boss boasts an incredibly short one-minute respawn time, allowing for rapid farming and quick accumulation of potential drops. You can find Sesa deep within the Yeti Cave, located in the Serenity Sanctuary. To get there, fast travel to the Serenity Shrine and head straight for the cave entrance.
Soloing Sesa is straightforward once you understand his attack patterns. If the surrounding mobs in the cave become an issue, you can use a ranged weapon to pull Sesa outside for a cleaner, one-on-one fight. After each kill, you have about a minute before he respawns. This brief downtime is ideal for gathering nearby resources, which are abundant in the area. Look out for Starmetal, Platinum, Hemp, Ironwood, and Violet Prismabloom, adding extra value to your farming run. Sesa is also a prime target for using your daily Topaz Gypsum Attunement Potion due to his easy accessibility and quick defeat.
Putris & Krockes (Engineering Gloves & Jewelcrafter’s Hood)
This dynamic duo, Putris and the Lost Alchemist Krockes, offers a double dose of valuable drops from a single farming location. Putris has a chance to drop the Jewelcrafter’s Hood, while Krockes can yield the Engineering Gloves. Their shared spawn point and a reasonable three-minute respawn timer mean you’re getting two chances at valuable items with each cycle, making for efficient farming.
To reach them, simply teleport to a major city in the region, then follow the road to Mosswater Borg where they patrol. Both bosses are quite easy to solo, arguably even simpler than Sesa, making them excellent targets for players new to solo farming. Be mindful of Putris’s sticky purple goo, which can slow your movement, and Krockes’ damage absorption ability, but neither presents a significant threat. The main drawback of this spot is the scarcity of other gathering resources nearby. This makes it an ideal location for focused boss killing, perhaps during a short AFK break while waiting for spawns.
Broadpaw (Weaver’s Shirt)
For players who haven’t quite reached the max level, or those seeking a truly low-stress farm, the Level 41 version of Broadpaw is an excellent choice. This specific iteration of the bear boss is significantly easier to defeat than its higher-level counterparts. Your primary goal here is to acquire the Weaver’s Shirt. While his six-minute respawn time is longer than other bosses, requiring a bit more patience, his ease of defeat makes up for it, especially for lower-level characters.
Broadpaw’s Den is located east of the Malerie Shrine fast travel point in Weaver’s Fen. He typically patrols just outside the cave entrance. This boss is incredibly simple to solo; if you position yourself inside the cave and engage him with a ranged weapon as he approaches, you can often defeat him before he even reaches melee range. This strategy is highly recommended for players looking for early game gold-making opportunities with minimal risk. The longer respawn time might mean more downtime, but the low difficulty ensures consistent, safe kills.
Articulon & Mozrul (Weaponsmith Pants & Tanner Pants)
Articulon the Unshackled and Mozrul the Herald form another profitable duo, offering a chance at both Weaponsmith Pants (from Articulon) and Tanner Pants (from Mozrul). These two bosses share a very quick one-minute respawn, ensuring a high kill rate and multiple opportunities for drops in a short period. Their location in Great Cleave is now highly accessible thanks to the Shrine of the Herald fast travel point.
Upon teleporting to the shrine, you’ll find them near Loadstone Grom. Mozrul patrols openly, while Articulon is uniquely embedded within an Orichalcum vein. You must have a Mining skill of at least 150 to mine the vein and free Articulon. If your mining skill isn’t high enough, you can still farm Mozrul alone. While they once posed a significant challenge, recent nerfs have made both bosses very manageable for solo players. You can choose to engage Mozrul first, then mine Articulon, or even tackle them simultaneously once you’re comfortable with their mechanics. Beyond the valuable BoE items, these bosses also frequently drop legendary items perfect for salvaging into Dark Matter, cool-looking gear for transmog, and Corrupted Tokens used for upgrading Corrupted Combat Trophies. Resources are scarce in the immediate vicinity, but the rapid respawn rate means you’ll be constantly engaged in combat.
