Lost Ark’s Cool Retreat Update: Everything You Need to Know

Key Features of the Update

The highly anticipated Cool Retreat update for Lost Ark, launching July 17th, promises a wealth of new features and improvements. This major patch focuses on enhancing progression, streamlining endgame activities, and introducing fresh content for all players. The update will be preceded by a maintenance period, ensuring a smooth transition for everyone.

1. Solo Mode for Endgame Raids and Dungeons

Players can now conquer four endgame raids (Valtan, Vykas Legion, Kakul-Saydon, and Brelshaza) and one dungeon (Kayangel Abyssal) solo. This new solo mode removes the pressure of group coordination, allowing for more flexible practice. While rewards are adjusted for solo play, each class will benefit from unique bonuses, providing a significant advantage, particularly for support roles. The difficulty of these solo activities scales with item levels. Completion of these raids awards “Clear Medals”, which can be exchanged for unique items.

  • Valtan and Vykas Legion Raids: Item Level 1,600
  • Kakul-Saydon Legion Raid: Item Level 1,610
  • Brelshaza Legion Raid: Item Level 1,620
  • Kayangel Abyssal Dungeon: Item Level 1,640

2. Voldis Event Powerpass and Super Mokoko Express

The Voldis Event Powerpass and Super Mokoko Express will aid players in their journey toward Tier Four gear. The Powerpass provides valuable resources and accelerates item level progression, boosting your character’s item level to 1,520 and must be claimed by September 25th. The Super Mokoko Express facilitates quicker item level increases by offering discounted honing rates and expanded access to essential honing materials.

3. Extra Endgame Rewards

Earn additional rewards like leapstones and honor shards by participating in various endgame events, running specific instances and clearing difficult content until September 25th. This includes completing certain raid and dungeon instances.

  • Kayangel Abyssal Dungeon Gate (Three): Hard Mode
  • Akkan Legion Raid Gate (Three): Normal and Hard Mode
  • Ivory Tower Abyssal Dungeon Gate (Three): Normal and Hard Mode
  • Thaemine Legion Raid Gate (Three): Normal and Hard Mode
  • Echidna Kazeros Raid Gate (Two): Normal and Hard Mode

4. New Festivals, Events, and Cosmetics

A new Maharaka Paradise Event Island with races and token-based rewards are introduced. These rewards lead to the acquisition of summer-themed cosmetics. The Ocean Festival-themed items include pixel weapons, a swing ride mount, summer wallpapers, and even swimsuits. A daily playtime reward event will also take place until September 25th, offering valuable in-game resources like silver, honing materials, event tokens, and honing fusion materials.

5. Progression Updates

Numerous adjustments aim to enhance the overall leveling and progression experience. These improvements touch upon several areas including honing, gear creation, and item acquisition.

  • Increased honing success rate for Brel gear.
  • Engraving Support for all T3 characters.
  • Reduced costs for gear creation, set level upgrades, and ability stone upgrades.
  • Lowered Legendary Elixir costs (newly created).
  • Increased weekly creation limit for Epic and Legendary Elixirs to 20.
  • Reduced Armor Transcendence and Pheon costs for T3 gear components (amulet, accessories, and bracelets).
  • Level five T3 bound gems granted from completing the Punika World Quest.
  • Added growth missions to assist in reaching item level 1,600.
  • Increased material rewards from T1/2 guardian raids.

6. Raid Gold Changes

Gold rewards from raids and dungeons have been reduced to reflect the adjusted gold costs associated with the solo mode raid changes. For example, completing Brelshaza on Hard mode will now yield a lower gold amount across all four gates. Consult the full patch notes for comprehensive details.

7. Echidna After Story Quest

A new story quest, “Lingering Red Scent,” is now available. Players can obtain this quest from the Luterran Messenger NPC in Elnead after fulfilling a preceding quest, “Crimson Red Floral Scent of Temptation,” and defeating Covetous Master Echidna in either Normal or Hard mode.

The Cool Retreat update is poised to significantly enhance the Lost Ark experience. The new features and updates, including solo content, events, and improved progression, aim to cater to a wider player base while maintaining the core gameplay. It promises a thrilling summer for Lost Ark players!
