Persona 3 Reload: Tartarus Missing Person Guide

Missing Person in Tartarus Overview

As you progress through Persona 3 Reload, the Full Moon becomes a significant event that triggers various tasks and operations. One of these indirectly related elements involves missing persons in Tartarus. While the Full Moon doesn’t cause their disappearance, they vanish as the lunar cycle completes. To save these individuals, you need to locate them and rescue them before they vanish.

  • Outside Velvet Room – You receive a call in the morning from the Attendant.
  • Inside Velvet Room – The Attendant informs you of sensing someone’s presence in Tartarus and provides an estimated floor they should appear on.

After receiving these notifications, you can gather more information about the missing person by visiting the Paulownia Mall outside the Police Station, where a bulletin board displays details. Although rescuing them is not mandatory, it offers substantial rewards.

Many individuals will go missing in Tartarus over time, requiring you to locate them on progressively higher floors. Each event has a time limit, so finding them before the deadline is crucial. If you fail, they disappear permanently, and you can no longer rescue them.

Note: Pay close attention to notifications while in Tartarus. Fuuka will alert you with a notification that she is receiving a signal when you are near a missing person.

Be Wary of your Social Links

If you’re not keen on rescuing everyone, prioritize two specific individuals. Two of your social links will eventually go missing, so finding them before the deadline is crucial to avoid blocking their social link progression.

  • Bunkichi Kitamura (Hierophant Social) from the Bookworms at Iwatodai Strip Mall
  • Maiko Oohashi (Hanged Man social) from the Naganaki Shrine

Failing to rescue them will prevent you from continuing their social links and lock you out of their rewards.

Tips for Missing Person Rescues

  • Wait until the night of the next full moon to rescue multiple people at once. Most missing persons share a deadline at the end of the lunar cycle. This allows you to locate and rescue them simultaneously instead of individually.
  • After finding a missing person, you can either lead them to the exit or call for an escort, which involves an inactive party member assisting them. Calling for an escort is generally preferred as it enables you to explore undiscovered rooms. It’s also the better choice if you are trying to save multiple people at once.
