FFXIV New Mounts in 6.2
Final Fantasy XIV patch 6.2 has brought a plethora of new mounts, catering to diverse playstyles and preferences. From challenging PvP to serene island exploration, this guide details the new mounts, their acquisition methods, and their unique features.
Fylgja
Earn the Fylgja, a magnificent red dragon, by ascending the Crystalline Conflict Season 2 leaderboards. Achieving rank 25 is the key to claiming this imposing mount. This requires extensive participation in the PvP mode, culminating in the rewarding acquisition of a powerful and visually striking mount. Each rank level of the competition requires more victory points, but even matches lost award Experience points, increasing your rank to claim this prestigious dragon mount.
Wondrous Lanner
- Obtaining this magnificent avian mount involves completing tasks in the Duty Finder or facing challenging battles to collect necessary materials.
- One method requires meticulously fulfilling tasks in the Wondrous Tails Journal, culminating in turning in a Gold Certificate of Commendation. The journey entails completing nine different duties.
- Another approach involves weekly participation in the Unreal difficulty battles, collecting 600 Faux Leaves from the Faux Commander after completing the Faux Hollows minigame.
Lynx of Imperious Wind
The Lynx of Imperious Wind, a stylish mount, awaits those who conquer the challenging Storm’s Crown Extreme Trial. This extreme trial pushes players to their limits against Barbariccia, the Archfiend of Wind. Clearing this demanding battle rewards players with either a direct drop or tokens that can be exchanged for the mount. This rigorous encounter tests both individual and team skills, making its achievement a significant accomplishment for players.
Sunforged
This formidable fire serpent mount, the Sunforged, is a reward reserved for those who brave the Abyssos Savage raid tier. This demanding eight-man raid is considered some of the most challenging content currently available in the game. Players must navigate the intense Eighth Circle to have a chance at acquiring this epic mount. Success in clearing this arduous challenge positions players among the elite.
Island Eggplant Knight/Onion Prince/Mandragora
These charming mounts are accessible on the Island Sanctuary. Players can earn Seafarers’ Cowries, the in-game currency of the Island, to purchase them. These mounts require reaching Sanctuary level 3 before appearing in the shop. This necessitates significant engagement with the island’s exploration, collection, and building activities. It’s a rewarding journey that fosters a sense of progression and accomplishment within the sandbox environment.
Garlond GL-II
The Garlond GL-II, a powerful all-terrain motorbike, can be acquired from the Island Sanctuary shop after reaching rank 10. Reaching this rank requires extensive work on island development, vision completion, and farm/pasture management. The 24,000 Seafarer’s Cowries required for this particular mount signify the depth and complexity of the Island activities. The considerable effort yields a visually unique, and useful, motorbike mount.
Note: Further mounts are scheduled for release before patch 6.3, including a Space Jellyfish and a Silky (a pink rat). Players can also anticipate a Mechanical Lotus mount from the Mog Station store, and a Starlight Steed during the Starlight Celebration event. The continual development and exciting new mounts keep Final Fantasy XIV consistently engaging for players.
