Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Gets First Patch in Update 1.12.2

Elden Ring developer FromSoftware has released its first patch for the game following the release of Shadow of the Erdtree, bringing it up to Update 1.12.2. This update primarily focuses on balancing tweaks and addressing a few bugs.

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree Update 1.12.2 Patch Notes

Shadow Realm Blessing Adjustments

  • The attack and damage negation curve scaling for Shadow Realm Blessings has been revised.
  • The attack and damage negation has been increased for the first half of the maximum amount of Blessing enhancements, while the second half now scales more gradually.
  • The final level of Blessing enhancements now grants slightly increased attack and damage negation.

PC Bug Fix: Raytracing Settings

A bug has been addressed where raytracing settings would automatically be enabled for PC players who previously loaded save data from older game versions. This could lead to unstable framerates. Players can manually disable raytracing by going to System, then Graphics Settings, then Raytracing Quality, and setting Raytracing to Off.

Additional Information

The calibration update can be applied by logging into the multiplayer server. If the Calibration Ver. listed at the bottom right of the title menu is not “1.12.2”, select LOGIN to apply the latest regulations before playing.

Future Updates

FromSoftware has confirmed that more updates are on the way, which will include further balance adjustments and bug fixes.

Conclusion

The first patch for Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree focuses on addressing crucial balancing issues and a critical bug affecting PC players. While this patch doesn’t address all potential issues, it demonstrates FromSoftware’s commitment to providing a smooth and enjoyable experience for players.
