Elden Ring: Sewer-Gaol Key Location & Use

Where to Find the Dung Eater in Elden Ring

To find the Dung Eater, you’ll need to have explored Leyndell, the Royal Capital, and be familiar with its main areas. Start at the Lower Capital Church. Directly across from the entrance, you’ll find a ladder leading down to a sewer tunnel. Head down the tunnel and then left, following it until you reach a room with another ladder leading up. Defeat the fire-spewing enemy at the top of the ladder.

Turn immediately right and head down the stairs. Stick to the left side of the forked staircase, and then jump up the hill to the left. Continue through the collapsed roofs, following the path until you reach a new area. Fight off the enemies and explore the area until you find a well. Jump down the well, and then through the gate on your left. This will lead you to Leyndell’s Sewers, where you’ll find the Dung Eater.

How to Find the Sewer-Gaol Key in Elden Ring

To obtain the Sewer-Gaol Key, you’ll need to start the Dung Eater’s questline. The Dung Eater can be found in the corpse-filled room in the Roundtable Hold. However, you can’t kill him right away. You’ll need to begin his questline, which requires the Seedbed Curse. Once you have the Seedbed Curse, talk to the Dung Eater, and he will give you the Sewer-Gaol Key.

How to Use the Sewer-Gaol Key in Elden Ring

To use the Sewer-Gaol Key, first, you’ll need to reach the Avenue Balcony Site of Grace in Leyndell, Royal Capital. From there, head down the nearby stairs, through the door, and turn left to run along the edge of the balcony. Jump down into the courtyard below and head north. In a small alcove, you’ll find a well. Descending into this well will take you to the sewers, where the door requiring the Sewer-Gaol Key is located.

To access the area behind the door, use the Sewer-Gaol Key. This will allow you to progress further in the Dung Eater’s questline and eventually reach a point where you can either fight him or let him live.
