On the Diablo II: Resurrected Grind
The journey to become a Diablo II: Resurrected powerhouse involves a lot of grinding. While Magic Find (MF) might seem important for loot drops, the real key is to kill as many monsters as possible, as fast as you can. This emphasizes quantity over quality.
Hell Cows, a classic farming spot, offers abundant loot but requires high Area of Effect (AOE) damage to clear large groups efficiently. If you can’t handle the cows, there are other options. The most important thing is to find an area that suits your build and your needs.
How to Farm Efficiently
To find the ideal farming spot, consider these factors:
- Which immunities are your build weak against? If you’re a Cold Sorceress, areas like the Countess might be difficult due to her minions’ Cold Immunity. Look for areas with fewer immune monsters, like the Ancient Tunnels in Act 2.
- Are you built for single-target damage or AOE? If you excel at single-target damage, consider boss fights like Mephisto, which you can easily teleport to and farm.
Don’t worry too much about MF at the beginning. Focus on gearing up to clear monsters quickly. Even with less than 190% MF, you can find valuable loot. Here are some examples of common drops from various locations:
- Mephisto: Arachnid’s Mesh, Sandstorm Treks
- Ancient Tunnels: Ist and Mal Runes
- Countess: Ist, Mal, and Gul Runes
- Arcane Sanctuary: Magic Find and Cold Resistance charms, Enhanced Damage Jewel
- Tomb Runs: Vipermagi, Magefist, Goldwrap, Skill Grand Charms
- Hell Cows: Tal Rasha’s Armour, Lo, Sur, and Ber Runes
Best Builds for Farming
Builds that excel at AOE damage are ideal for farming runes. These are some popular choices:
- Blizzard Sorceress: This build offers great AOE damage thanks to its synergies. While there might be some Cold Immune monsters, you should be able to handle most encounters.
- Holy Hammer Paladin: Known for its high damage and range, this build can clear large groups of enemies effectively. The Hammers of Death also have a low chance of encountering immune monsters.
- Lightning Fury Amazon: This build delivers massive AOE damage from a distance, making it excellent for farming Hell Cows. The visual effects also add to the fun.
- Whirlwind Barbarian: Simple and powerful, this build lets you spin your way to victory with minimal effort.
- Lightning Sorceress: Requires expensive gear, including Griffon’s Eye and Infinity, making it a high-end build. But, it delivers powerful Lightning damage.
- Lightning Trap Assassin: Similar to the Lightning Sorceress, this build requires Infinity and comes with a high cost to gear.
Ultimately, choose a build that you enjoy playing, not just what’s popular. Don’t forget to gear up your Act 2 mercenary. A well-equipped mercenary can greatly increase your farming efficiency, especially when dealing with immune monsters.
Equip your mercenary with the Insight Runeword (meditation aura), Sharktooth Armour (defense), and Tal Raha’s Helmet (life leech). This setup is affordable and provides essential support for your farming endeavors.
