With the first expansion, Vessel of Hatred, Diablo 4 got a new endgame activity. If you complete the activity this season, you will secure an achievement – but you will not be able to do it alone. Vessel of Hatred is the first expansion for Diablo 4 and brought new content to the game. These include the new class, the Spiritborn, a new area, mercenaries, and the endgame dungeon “The Dark Citadel.”
With the new content, there were also a number of new achievements that you can unlock. This includes, for example, completing the new campaign, reaching a torment level and leveling up your mercenaries. Another achievement revolves around the new dungeon.
What kind of activity is this?
The new endgame activity is the dungeon, the “Dark Citadel.” The Citadel is a four-player co-op challenge that is available to you at Torment Level 1. Most players actually play Diablo 4 solo.
There are three wings in the challenge, each containing different tasks and a boss. If you complete the passage in the Citadel, you will receive Citadel Coins, which you can use to buy cosmetic items.
In addition, you will receive player titles when you complete the co-op dungeon. However, you can only get one of these titles this season.
What kind of success is that?
In the category “Heroic Deeds” there is the special achievement “Rise of the First Khazra: Champion 1.” In order to complete the achievement and thus receive the player title “Bloodbound; Pathfinder”, you have to go through all three wings in the Citadel.
This means that you have to venture into the co-op dungeon three times and face the puzzles and bosses. Not only that, but you’ll need to complete the challenge at the final level of Torment by the end of Season 6.
You will also need a group for this, as the activity is designed for four players. Although you can enter it alone, you won’t get anywhere in certain places, as at least two people will have to interact with items.
You can also venture into the Citadel in pairs, but the difficulty level does not scale with it. Thus, it is much more difficult for two people than for four. If you are looking for a suitable group, the new Group Finder, which came into the game with Season 6, will help you.
What other successes are there?
Apart from that, you earn several other achievements and player titles in the Citadel. And you can do it without time pressure, because you can get the other titles without having to complete the challenges this season.
These include, but are not limited to:
- Defeat bosses under certain conditions
- Complete tasks in a certain amount of time
- Collect 100,000 Citadel Coins
- Complete the activity in Hardcore Mode
You can already get a player title if you successfully complete the “Dark Citadel” three times at any Torment level. For another achievement in the “Heroic Deeds” category, you have to kill treasure goblins in Diablo 4 for 48 years. Killing such a huge number of goblins is not possible at this point, and players believe that a goblin level will come into play.
