Belial is the new boss in Diablo 4. We’ll show you how to summon him, how to defeat him and what you should be prepared for.

To summon Belial: To summon the hideout bosses, you no longer need special mats since Season 8. You can simply travel to Belial’s dungeon and summon him at the altar. Go to the “Deceiver’s Palace” west of Tarsarak in Kehjistan on a Torment level. As soon as you interact with the altar, the boss fight begins.

Once you have defeated Belial, a chest spawns, which you open with 2 “Traitor’s Shells” to get the loot. You can get them from Belial if he randomly spawns after another boss fight. The boss has a special feature when it comes to his loot, because: You can choose it yourself – more on that below.

What level is Belial?

With Season 6, Blizzard has abolished the often criticized world levels and integrated a new difficulty system. The monster levels are then based on the level you are playing at and are no longer displayed. The level of Belial thus depends on your difficulty level, as well as that of the enemies who await you in the “Palace of the Deceiver”.

Defeating Belial: Tips for Fighting

How do I prepare?

First, you need a strong build to even stand a chance against the tough boss. A list of the best builds in the Diablo 4 endgame can be found in the Tier List for Season 8. The more damage you press, the less time Belial has to inflict on you.

Another point is your resistance to shadows and poison. This should be at least above 70% for both so that you can start the fight more comfortably. If your resistances are not that high, you can temporarily increase your resistance with a potion – or you can use incense (additionally).

What do I have to watch out for?

Belial stays in one place throughout the fight – so you stand on a platform in front of him and the boss himself stays behind this platform. Dodging by “rolling around behind the boss” is not possible here. Instead, you have to move cleverly in a semicircle in front of him.

Belial hits the ground with his fist and pulls it across the platform, knocking you back and dealing a lot of damage. He also fires a beam that sweeps across the platform. Teleport over it or stand on the opposite side.

In between, the Lord of Lies spawns poison puddles around you. Make sure you don’t stay in the puddles, otherwise you will get high damage. Dodge the waves of poison that emanate from the puddles. On top of that, Belial summons several eyes that will damage you. Position yourself so that no eye is directly on you.

Belial: Loot Drops

What loot does Belial drop?

Unlike the other bosses, you choose your own loot from Belial. Once you’ve defeated the boss, you’ll receive a list of all the hideout bosses, from which you can choose a loot drop, so to speak. If you choose Duriel, for example, you’ll drop the Uniques chest from Duriel’s loot pool. You have a chance to get Mythic Uniques from all bosses. To increase your chances and efficiency, many players choose to Buy Diablo 4 Gold to speed up their progression and maximize rewards.
