10 Things Diablo 4 Doesn’t Tell You

Diablo 4’s vast world, brimming with demons and secrets, often keeps crucial information hidden. This article uncovers ten vital details that the game doesn’t explicitly reveal, guiding you through the Sanctuary.

1 – When Can I Get That Mount?

Contrary to initial impressions, you can’t purchase a mount immediately. You must progress through the main story, completing Acts 1, 2, and 3 before Act 4. Completing a specific quest in Act 4 will unlock the ability to acquire a mount. This means you can freely explore all other aspects of the game before getting your own mount.

2 – Unlock More Clothing Options

Diablo 4 allows for transmogrification. To change your appearance, visit the Blacksmith in any town. Some items have a pickaxe symbol, indicating they can be salvaged. Salvaging gear unlocks its appearance, and you can use the Wardrobe to equip these salvaged looks on your current gear.

3 – Don’t Sell Your Rare Items – Salvage Them

While selling rare items might seem tempting, salvaging them offers a better return. Using the Blacksmith to salvage rare items significantly increases your chances of obtaining Veiled Crystals. These crystals are essential for upgrading rare items into powerful legendary gear through the Occultist.

4 – Spend Your Murmuring Obols

Murmuring Obols are a currency earned from completing world events. These events have different types, including those in the open world, dungeons, and Legion events. Don’t hold onto them indefinitely; spend them at the Curiosities vendor to potentially obtain rare or legendary gear. Also, use them to buy Whispering Keys for unlocking Silent Chests, which may contain valuable loot.

5 – Emotes Are Important

Emotes in Diablo 4 aren’t just for social interaction. Certain emotes are crucial for completing puzzles. Look for weathered statues with cryptic inscriptions; these inscriptions often correlate to emotes that activate temporary buffs or unlock crucial side quests.

6 – Tweak the World Tier Difficulty

The game’s difficulty isn’t fixed. Statues in major cities allow you to adjust the world tier. Tier 1 offers a balanced experience. Higher tiers, like Tier 2 and 3, present more challenging monsters, potentially offering better loot and experience. Choose the difficulty that best suits your playstyle and desired challenges.

7 – Strongholds Hide Multiple Unlocks

Completing strongholds, or outdoor dungeons, isn’t just about the loot. These locations sometimes unlock additional settlements, fast travel points, merchants, and even undiscovered dungeons. These are significant changes to the map that improve convenience and uncover hidden content.

8 – Potions Offer More Than Stat Boosts

Potions aren’t solely for temporary stat boosts. Certain potions grant a significant experience bonus that lasts for a set time. Utilize these potions strategically before entering challenging areas like dungeons or during crucial story quests to accelerate your progress.

9 – Get Out of Dungeons Faster

After completing a dungeon, you don’t have to return the long way. Use the radial menu’s “Leave Dungeon” option to quickly exit. Alternatively, utilize the Town Portal to quickly return to the town where you entered the dungeon for easier selling and resupply.

10 – Rewards Can Carry Over

Certain actions in the game affect multiple characters. Interacting with Altars of Lilith, for instance, grants benefits like higher renown, stat increases, and maximum currency storage across all characters on the same server. Complete dungeons for legendary aspects that are universally accessible by all characters.
