Diablo 4 Season 1 Prep: Get Ready to Conquer
Diablo 4’s Season 1, Season of the Malignant, is around the corner. Don’t get caught scrambling! This guide outlines crucial pre-season activities to maximize your experience.
Finish the Campaign
Completing Diablo 4’s main campaign before Season 1 is paramount. Accessing seasonal content, storylines, and progression relies on finishing the core narrative. Even if you intend to play seasonal characters, completing the main campaign first will prepare you for the story that follows, ensuring you aren’t caught off guard by any spoilers. Crucially, you only need to finish the campaign once to unlock access for all future characters, including seasonal ones. This frees you to explore events and dungeons instead of getting bogged down in the main story again. If you’ve already finished the campaign and unlocked the Tree of Whispers, you’re all set.
Clear the Fog On the Map
Map exploration significantly impacts your Renown gains and ease of navigation in the game. The previously explored areas of the world map are carried over to your new seasonal characters. Taking the time to explore and uncover all currently undiscovered regions, will directly translate into more Renown and a smoother experience in the new season. This effort, therefore, will be beneficial for when you create new seasonal characters. Consider it time well spent.
Interact With All Altars of Lilith
Interact with all Altars of Lilith before Season 1. Crucially, these altars now provide permanent stat bonuses and Renown. Completing this task now will ensure maximum Renown for your character from the moment you create it. Unlocking and interacting with all Altars of Lilith now will help provide you with the needed Renown boosts for your character. It’s a strategic step to maximize your power and preparation.
Still Not Enough? Increase Your Renown With Other Methods Then
If you’ve cleared the map and interacted with all Altars of Lilith but still need more Renown, tackle side missions, dungeons, and strongholds. While these will reset for seasonal content, completing them now allows you to strategically focus on tasks that provide the most Renown. Focus on dungeons with corresponding side quests for maximum efficiency. This will save you time by focusing on activities that reward with Renown, XP, and other valuable in-game resources.
Decide On Which Class to Pick
This seemingly minor step is a significant preparation point. Choosing your class before the season launch allows you to approach the new content with a clear plan and anticipated playstyle. Consider different playstyles and experiment with classes to see which best suits you. You could even consider choosing a class to complement a friend’s choice, especially for co-op play. If you’re a long-time player, this is a perfect opportunity to try a different class that might better suit your playstyle. Ultimately, the choice is yours, but having an idea of which character you want to create will streamline the start of the season significantly.
