What are the Horadric Spells? With combinations of three components, you create the Horadric spells with which you equip your builds. The new powers consist of three basic building blocks:
- Catalysts are the basis of your spell
- Infusions change the type of elemental damage of your spell
- Arcana modify the base power of the spell
To build a Horadric spell, equip a catalyst, a supporting infusion, and three arcana. Each component contributes to the overall effect of the spell.
How do I learn the Horadric spells? In Season 9, you’ll receive the catalysts and infusions via the Season Questline, while you’ll find Arcana while exploring Nightmare Dungeons.
Below we list all Horadric spells and their functions that have been announced by Blizzard as of June 24, 2025. The article was updated on June 24.
Catalysts
These are catalysts: The catalysts are the main source of your Horadric spells. They form the basis in terms of form and function, so to speak. Depending on where you equip them in which slot, they activate with a certain skill. Through infusions and arcana, you further adjust the powers.
Celestial Tension – Astral Magic
- Awakens an oracle rune that pulls in all nearby enemies. This is followed by a torrent of stars that hit the area 20 times, each dealing damage.
- Cooldown: 15 seconds (11.2 seconds at rank 20)
- Lucky Strike Chance: 18%
- Rank 10: Stars regularly fall around you, which are also guaranteed to hit near an enemy in the area, where they deal the same damage.
Disintegration – Arcane Magic
- Form an Arcane Amplifier that creates a stable beam between itself and you, dealing periodic damage over 8 seconds.
- Cooldown: 10 seconds (5.3 at rank 20)
- Lucky Strike Chance: 9%
- Rank 10: Enemies inside the beam are slowed by 50%.
Drive – Arcane Magic
- Creates an explosion of mana that deals damage and knocks back all enemies. Clashing enemies take damage again.
- Cooldown: 8 seconds (3 at rank 20)
- Lucky Strike Chance: 15%
- Rank 10: The recoil is gigantic, and enemies that are knocked to the ground as a result will generate a small mana explosion the first time this happens to them.
Cosmic Anomaly – Astral Magic
- Passive: Manifests up to 5 anomalies that emit particles that deal damage over 4 seconds.
- Active: Command your anomalies to contract and implode, dealing damage per detonation.
- Spawn rate: Every 5 seconds
- Lucky Strike Chance: 20%
- Rank 10: While you have 5 anomalies, you are unstoppable and your next implosion deals double damage.
Astral Pillar – Astral Magic
- Forms an Ethereal Pillar that taunts for 3.0 seconds. Piercing waves emanate from this and deal damage until you create a new one or move too far away.
- Cooldown: 7 seconds
- Lucky Strike Chance: 12%
- Rank 10: Taunted enemies become vulnerable and move faster.
Infusions
These are infusions: Infusions change the elemental damage type of your Horadric spell. This means that they determine which element your spell uses – such as fire, cold, lightning or poison. On top of that, infusions give the spell an effect – and the higher the infusion rank, the stronger the effect.
Smoldering Remnants
- Your Spell Catalyst now deals Fire and Burn damage.
- Bonus: He destroys enemy structures and has a 10% chance to ignite the ground under enemies, dealing 450% burn damage over 5 seconds. While equipped, your Fire Damage Bonus is equal to your highest damage bonus.
- Rank 5: Disables all enemy Icy Wind effects for 8 seconds.
Nebulous Extract
- Your Spell Catalyst now deals Shadow and/or Corruption damage.
- Bonus: Enemies hit by it deal 5-10% reduced damage for 7 seconds. While equipped, your Shadow damage bonus is equal to your highest damage bonus.
- Rank 5: Disables all enemy summoner effects for 8 seconds.
Glacier nimbus
- Your Spell Catalyst now deals Cold and/or Frostbite damage.
- Bonus: Enemies hit by it are Chilled for 15-25%. This effect occurs once per second and enemy. While equipped, your cold damage bonus is equal to your highest damage bonus.
- Rank 5: Disables all enemy explosive effects for 8 seconds.
Corrosive Vapor
- Your spell catalyst now deals poison and/or poison damage.
- Bonus: Enemies hit by it take 320% poison damage for 4 seconds. This effect can only occur once every 3 seconds per enemy. While equipped, your poison damage bonus is equal to your highest damage bonus.
- Rank 5: Disables all enemy Vampiric effects for 8 seconds.
Thundering Particles
- Your Spell Catalyst now deals Lightning and/or Spark damage.
- Bonus: A spark bounces from enemies hit to a nearby enemy, dealing 320% lightning damage. This effect can only occur once every 3 seconds per enemy. While equipped, your lightning damage bonus is equal to your highest damage bonus.
- Rank 5: Disables all enemy Suppressor effects for 8 seconds.
Arcana
These are Arkana: You can equip up to 3 Arcana in 3 rarities (magical, rare, legendary) to change your catalyst. Many Arcana contain spell tags that refer to the new Horadric Jewels.
Magic Arcana
- Entangled Bundle: Lucky Strike: Damage dealt by your catalyst has a chance of up to 35% to immobilize enemies for 5 seconds (+5% per rank).
- Tranquil Stone: Using your catalyst makes you unstoppable for 3 seconds (+0.4 per rank) each time you activate.
- Converting powder: Your catalyst increases your movement speed by 30% for the duration of its effect, and for an additional 5 seconds after it ends (+8% per rank).
- Luminous gemstone: Your catalyst dazes enemies it damages for 2 seconds (+1 per rank).
- Cloudy Essence: Using your catalyst makes you stealthy for 2 seconds (+0.4 per rank) each time you activate.
- Invigorating Helix: The damage dealt by your catalyst steels and heals you for 5% of your maximum health (+1% per rank) once per enemy every 5 seconds.
- Bottle wind: When calling on your catalyst, it grants you a barrier equal to 30% of your maximum health for 4 seconds. After it evaporates, its Essence is put back into the bottle (+4% per rank).
- Serrated Sting: Lucky Strike: Damage dealt by your catalyst has a chance of up to 50% of dealing 150% of your Thorns damage (+20% per rank).
- Reactive mucus: After activating your catalyst, you gain 5% maximum resource generation per second for the next 10 seconds (+3% per rank).
- Unstable Crystal: After activating, your catalyst gives you 10% resistance for 10 seconds and max resistance to the element of your infusion (+2% per rank).
Rare Arcana
- Shimmering connection: The effect size of your catalyst is increased by 10% (+8% per rank).
- Splintered Core: Your catalyst disables enemy Aura-for-Damage Resistance effects for 2.5 seconds, but you take 10% more stacking damage (+0.5 per rank) for the same duration.
- Tapping crux: Your catalyst makes enemies vulnerable for 3 seconds (+1 per rank).
- Powerful alloy: Your catalyst destroys your enemies’ barriers and knocks them down for 1.0 seconds after removal (+0.8 per rank).
- Sharpening Gizmo: Lucky Strike: Damage dealt by your catalyst has a 50% chance to deal 200% Physical damage. Your catalyst’s chance of luck is doubled. (+30% per rank.)
Legendary Arcana
Floating fluff
- Your catalyst gains a specialized teleport effect that makes you unhindered for 2.0 seconds (+0.4 per rank).
- Floating flu gives the individual catalysts the following effects:
- Celestial Tension: Teleport to the center of the oracle rune as it arises and make yourself unhindered.
- Disintegrate: Teleports to your target, but leaves behind an Arcane Amplifier. You are unhindered while the beam is active and for 2.0 seconds afterwards.
- Propulsion: Teleports to the center of the explosion and makes yourself unhindered for 2.0 seconds. The melee variant teleports you to the knocked back enemies.
- Astral Pillar: Teleports to your focused target and makes yourself unobstructed for 2.0 seconds, while ranged variants leave a beacon at your previous location.
- Cosmic Anomaly: Teleport to the Implosion, making yourself unhindered and removing all negative effects from you.
Nightmare Orb
- Your catalyst gains a specialized fear effect that lasts 4.0 seconds (+0.4 per rank).
- Nightmare Orb gives each catalyst the following effects:
- Celestial Tension: Stars strike fear into the hearts of unaffected enemies for 4.0 seconds. After the fear effect ends, there is a 50% chance that another star will strike.
- Disintegrate: Inflicts fear on unaffected enemies and deals 100% more damage while fearful.
- Drive: Removes enemy vulnerability effects to strike fear into them. While filled with fear, these enemies randomly form small mana explosions.
- Astral Pillar: Every 9th wave causes fear. Nearby enemies are taunted and lose their fear.
- Cosmic Anomaly: Unaffected enemies that come into contact with Anomalies are slowed by 90% and Feared.
Ice-cold heart
- Your catalyst gains a specialized freeze effect that lasts 3.0 seconds (+0.4 per rank).
- Ice Cold Heart gives the individual catalysts the following effects:
- Celestial Tension: Celestial Tension’s Oracle Rune explodes and freezes enemies. A second one occurs after the star rain ends.
- Disintegrate: Your Disintegrate Rays freeze all affected enemies for 3.0 seconds after you dodge, giving you 15% dodge chance for twice the duration.
- Propulsion: Enemies that collide twice are frozen for 3.0 seconds.
- Astral Pillar: The beacon freezes enemies in the area for 3.0 seconds when it ends. Each Freeze increases your chance of Luck by 10% for 5 seconds, up to 25%.
- Cosmic Anomaly: Anomalies have a 30% chance to persist instead of implode and freeze enemies in the area.
Boiler pressure
- Your catalyst gains a specialized stun effect that lasts 1.0 seconds (+0.4 per rank).
- Boiler pressure gives the individual catalysts the following effects:
- Celestial Tension: The stars have a 25% stun chance and always critically hit stunned enemies.
- Disintegration: After activated, Disintegrate stuns each enemy hit once. This stun causes bosses to stagger 100% more.
- Drive: Enemies that are thrown against the terrain by propulsion are stunned and have a chance to miss with their next 2 attacks.
- Astral Pillar: Waves have a 30% chance to stun enemies for 1.0 seconds, and always overpower stunned enemies.
- Cosmic Anomaly: The particles from your Anomalies deal damage instantly and have a 25% chance to stun enemies.
Bloody Spell
- Your catalyst gains a specialized execution effect for non-boss enemies that have 10% health or less (+2% per rank).
- Bloody spell gives each catalyst the following effects:
- Celestial Tension: The impact of the moon executes non-boss enemies with 10% or less health. Successful executions reduce your cooldowns by 2 seconds.
- Disintegrate: Enemies with 10% or less health that are not bosses are executed immediately. This limit is doubled for non-elite opponents.
- Drive: The mana explosion from Drive executes enemies with 10% or less health that are not bosses. Successful executions grant 70% movement speed for 5 seconds.
- Astral Pillar: Sends out additional waves against non-boss enemies that can be executed to execute them.
- Cosmic Anomaly: Execute non-boss enemies through the implosion. Successful executions increase your attack speed by 20% for 8 sec.
