In the Hall of Atonement, Grigoire can be summoned – a boss in Diablo 4 that can drop certain uniques. You can find out which items you can get from him and what materials you need to summon him on iGV.
How to summon Grigoire:
You can find Grigoire from Torment Level 1 in the Hideout in the “Hall of Atonement” in the Dry Steppe, south of the Waypoint “Ked Bardu”. To summon Hideout Bosses, you no longer need special Mats since Season 8. You can simply go to his dungeon and summon him at the altar.
Once you have defeated Grigoire, a chest spawns, which you open with 12 “Living Steel” to get his loot. You can get it from chests from Whispering Tree and from chests in the Helltide.
What level is Grigoire?
With Season 6, Blizzard has abolished the often criticized world levels and integrated a new difficulty system. The monster levels are then based on the level at which it is set and are no longer displayed. The level of Grigoire thus depends on your difficulty level, as well as that of the enemies that await you in the “Hall of Atonement”. There you will mainly meet knights.

In Grigoire, you have the chance to get class-specific uniques, but also some that you can equip for all classes:
- all classes: Greaves of Remorse, Butcher’s Cleaver
- Barbarians: Wrath of Harrogath, Battle Trance, Twin Strikes, Unbroken Chain
- Wizard: Staff of Lam Esen, Ice Heartbreak, Flameweaver, Axial Link, Greeting of Verglas
- Druids: Insatiable Rage, Hunter’s Zenith, Waxing Moon, Earthbreaker
- Hunter: Message of Hakan, Shadowtouch, Saboteur’s Seal, Veil of Khanduras
- Necromancer: Bloodcrafter’s Cuirass, Roar from the Depths, Greaves of the Void Crypt, Ebonator, Path of Trag’Oul
- Spiritborn: Protection of the Great, Peacemaker’s Crest, Ring of the Midnight Sun, Cloak of Loyalty
In addition to the uniques, you can also get “Shards of Torment”, which you need for Duriel’s loot chest. You can also get a cosmetic item for your mount from Grigoire.
Tips for Fighting Grigoire
Prepare for the fight against Grigoire and equip yourself with potions that increase your lightning resistance. Grigoire strikes at you with his weapon – try to dodge the attacks. To do this, he spawns electric poles that knock you back. However, you can dodge through the lightning lines. In addition, Grigoire attacks you with lightning on the ground and in the air.
After losing part of his life, Grigoire spawns knights to help him. They appear in a ring and then quickly approach you, so it’s best to use AoE attacks to take them out quickly, keeping an eye on the boss.
In general, pay close attention to the ground, where circles and individual fields are covered with lightning. Dodge them and/or use abilities that steel you, make you immune or give you a shield.
