Diablo 4 brings a winter event with big rewards

In wintertime, Diablo 4 brings an event where you have to slaughter a bunch of treasure goblins to secure fat rewards. But don’t worry – you don’t have to kill the 40 million goblins alone. To make the most of this event, you can Buy Diablo 4 Gold to gear up and dominate the goblin hunt!

What kind of event is this? During the “Sleigh Ride to Hell” event, several treasure goblins spawn in Sanctuary. If you slaughter enough of them, all kinds of rewards await you – including cosmetics and finally a “Magnificent Spark”, which you can use to craft Mythic Uniques.

When does the event take place? The winter event “Sleigh Ride to Hell” will take place from December 17, 2024 at 19:00 CET to January 2, 2025 at 19:00 CET. Meanwhile, you fight the treasure goblins together as a community and unlock individual milestones. Loot awaits you with every milestone you reach.

During the same period, the “Mother’s Blessing” event in Diablo 4 will take place. So you can also secure a bonus to gold and XP. And from December 19 to January 3, players will have the opportunity to test the Spiritborn if they have not purchased Vessel of Hatred.

Winter Event: All Milestones

What are the rewards? There are a total of 5 milestones that you can reach on the “Sleigh Ride to Hell”. You fight the Treasure Goblins together as a community and unlock reward levels:

  • Legendary Weapon Chest (contains 3 bequeathed legendary items with a guaranteed large affix)
  • 1 legendary rune and 2 random runes
  • Random Tribute to the Undercity of Kurast
• Milestone 2: Goblin Bag – 10 Million Treasure Goblins Slain in Sanctuary
  • Unique and Legendary Weapon Chest (contains 3 bequeathed legendary items and a bequeathed unique with a guaranteed large affix)
  • 1 legendary rune and 3 random runes
  • Random Tribute to the Undercity of Kurast
• Milestone 3: Big Goblin Bag – 15 million Treasure Goblins slain in Sanctuary
  • Unique Weapon Chest (contains 3 bequeathed legendary items and 2 bequeathed uniques with a guaranteed large affix)
  • 2 legendary runes and 3 random runes
  • 5 Tributes of Glow for the Lower City of Kurast
  • Fruits of the Harvest Mount Trophy
• Milestone 4: Large Goblin Bag – 25 million Treasure Goblins slain in Sanctuary
  • 3 bequeathed uniques (all with a guaranteed large affix)
  • 6 runes (3 legendary, 2 rare, 1 random)
  • Citadel Coins
  • Mount Trophy “Totem of the Harvest Mare”
• Milestone 5: Mythic Goblin Bag – 40 million Treasure Goblins slain in Sanctuary
  • 3 bequeathed Uniques, 8 bequeathed Legendaries (all with a guaranteed large affix)
  • 8 runes (5 legendary, 2 rare, 1 random)
  • 3 Tributes of Ascension, 5 Tributes of Luminosity
  • 20,000 Citadel Coins
  • Mount Armor “Harvest Mare’s Horse Armour”
  • 1 Magnificent Spark

Where do I pick up the rewards? You can pick up the rewards after each milestone in Goblin Square in Kyovashad. The rewards that are part of the “Vessel of Hatred” expansion (i.e. runes, tributes, and citadel coins) will be given to those who own an edition of the DLC in the form of an additional reward chest. You can pick up the cosmetics in the shop.

“Hopefully a test run for more community events”

How is that received? Many players seem to be happy about the announcement of the winter event. In a post on Reddit, YellowFew6603 writes that the Magnificent Spark in particular appeals to him as a reward. For K_U, it is the tributes that have caught his attention. If you use them and do rotations, you have a good chance of getting Mythics, he notes.

KnowMatter hopes that the event will be “a test run for more community events in the future”. And welshy1986 thinks: “Cosmetics, joint progression for everyone and bonus XP – that’s a decent event.” xiaopewpew writes: “Christmas is saved.”

In another Reddit post, Flat_Wallaby_8725 writes: “Imagine the Helltide worm spitting out goblins. How cool would that be?!” And mvrspycho thinks the idea is cool and adds: “How about Knorzer spitting some out occasionally?” Knorzer is one of the world bosses in Diablo 4.

Others hope that the event will help them achieve the achievement “Nemesis of All Treasure Goblins” and secure the player title. For this challenge, however, they have to kill over 6 million treasure goblins.
