Destiny 2: Zero Hour & Whisper Back!

D2 Zero Hour is Making A Comeback

Destiny 2 fans rejoice! The beloved Zero Hour and Whisper exotic missions are making a triumphant return in the upcoming Into the Light update, scheduled for release in May 2024. While these missions were previously removed from the game with the Beyond Light expansion in 2020, Bungie is bringing them back with a few exciting tweaks. Get ready for more enemies, less restrictive timers, and new craftable versions of your favorite Exotic weapons.

Zero Hour and Whisper Missions Destiny 2: What to Expect

For those unfamiliar, the Whisper and Zero Hour missions are considered to be some of the best in Destiny 2’s history. They offer a unique blend of challenging encounters, intricate puzzles, and rewarding loot. Here’s a rundown of what to expect with the updated versions of these missions:

Less Restrictive Timers

Bungie has recognized that players have become significantly more powerful since these missions were last available. To accommodate this power creep, the developers have adjusted the timers to be less restrictive, especially on Normal difficulty. This means you’ll have more time to complete the objectives and enjoy the experience, without the pressure of a constant ticking clock. However, if you’re looking for a true test of your skills, the higher difficulty modes will still feature the original, more challenging time limits.

More Enemies

To further enhance the challenge, the missions will also feature a greater number of enemies. These enemies will be stronger and more numerous, requiring you to use your skills and abilities to overcome them. This change ensures that the missions remain engaging and rewarding, even for seasoned players.

Craftable Rewards

One of the most exciting aspects of the updated missions is the introduction of craftable versions of the Outbreak Prime and Whisper of the Worm Exotic weapons. After completing the missions, you’ll earn blueprints that allow you to customize these powerful weapons to your liking. You can unlock new perk options and improve their stats by completing the missions repeatedly and acquiring various crafting materials.

Will the Zero Hour Ship and Whisper Ship Destiny 2 Make An Appearance?

While the return of the Zero Hour and Whisper missions is exciting news, Bungie has confirmed that the special ships associated with these missions will not be returning. This decision was made to maintain the achievement of long-time players who earned these ships in the past and to introduce new cosmetic rewards for the updated missions. Expect to see new ships available to earn upon completion of the Zero Hour and Whisper missions.

New PvP Maps Are Also Coming to Destiny 2

Alongside the return of the Zero Hour and Whisper missions, Bungie is also introducing three new PvP maps for players to battle it out on:

  • Cirrus Plaza (Neomuna) – This map is set in the entertainment and shopping sector for the exos of Neomuna, featuring a large central atrium.
  • Essence (Pyramid Ship) – The Essence map is located on a Pyramid ship currently being terraformed by the Traveler.
  • Eventide Labs (Europa) – This map is a research outpost on Europa, with a network of ice tunnels.

These maps promise to offer a diverse range of gameplay experiences and are sure to add to the already vibrant PvP scene in Destiny 2.

With the return of the Zero Hour and Whisper missions, the introduction of new PvP maps, and the ongoing development of Destiny 2’s narrative, the future of the game is looking brighter than ever. It’s a thrilling time to be a Guardian, and we can’t wait to see what Bungie has in store for us next.
