
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Preseason Patch Notes
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now live, and Activision has released preseason patch notes detailing multiplayer adjustments. These additions build on previous beta feedback and data, offering players a refined experience.
Weapons
The game launches with 33 unlockable and customizable weapons. Detailed breakdowns and weapon attachments can be found on the official Call of Duty blog.
Weapon Balance
Significant weapon balance changes have been implemented since the beta. These adjustments aim to provide a fair and consistent gameplay experience. The launch baseline is considered day one, and further adjustments will be evaluated based on player data and feedback.
- Aim Assist Adjustment: Aim assist has been adjusted to be weaker at close ranges, smoothly increasing in strength further out. This adjustment aims to provide a more nuanced and responsive experience for players.
- Pistol and Melee Swap Speeds: Improved speeds for swapping between pistols and dedicated melee weapons.
- Weapon Butt Melee Speeds: Slightly increased speeds for melee attacks performed using weapon butts.
- ADS Adjustments: Adjustments to sway, bob, and weapon motions to improve point of aim precision during ADS.
- Depth of Field Improvements: Improved depth of field across all weapons.
Movement
- Corner Slicing: Added a toggle option for corner slicing.
- Dive to Prone/Slide: Added the ability to choose a hold time for dive-to-prone or slide actions based on user-defined preferences.
- Mantle Assist Angle: An intelligent movement option to adjust mantle assist angle settings in tight, medium, or wide configurations.
Multiplayer Map Adjustments
Based on extensive player feedback from the beta, a number of map adjustments have been made, aiming to improve fairness and consistency in firefights. Lighting has also been adjusted.
- Skyline: Increased cover around the central hot tub area. Added planters for cover near the far spawn.
- Scud: Modified bullet penetration values for satellite dish panels, offering improved penetration values. The concrete wall at the main overwatch is now weaker. Panels at the side overwatch now offer penetration. Cover options throughout the map have been adjusted.
- Rewind: Improvements to cover options and sightlines.
Audio
- HRTF Support: Implemented HRTF (Head-Related Transfer Function) via Universal Profile in Enhanced Headphone Mode for an enhanced audio experience available to all players.
- Licensed Music: Added an option to disable licensed music in all game modes, useful for streamers.
RICOCHET Anti-Cheat
RICOCHET Anti-Cheat systems have been activated for Black Ops 6. This includes crucial upgrades:
- Kernel-Level Driver Updates: Enhanced detection and monitoring on PC.
- TeamRICOCHET Mitigations: Damage Shield, Disarm, Splat, and other TeamRICOCHET mitigations are active.
- Machine Learning Enhancements: Improved detection speeds through machine learning and aim bot analysis.
Adjustments for Future Weapon Damage Patch Notes
Understanding weapon damage is critical to Call of Duty gameplay. To clarify and enhance future patch notes, the following changes have been implemented.
- Weapon Damage Adjustment Table: A new table is introduced to clearly display pre- and post-patch weapon damage adjustments.
- Weapon Damage Range Definitions: Defines specific damage ranges for each weapon for clearer understanding.
The new table displays damage and range (in meters) for each weapon in different damage ranges.
Positive (⇧) and negative (⇩) changes are clearly indicated with arrows.
Damage Range Explainer
This system clarifies how damage is dealt across various ranges, providing better clarity for players on how different weapons behave at different distances.
- Maximum Damage Range: The maximum damage a weapon can deal at a certain distance.
- Medium and Minimum Damage Ranges: This outlines how damage decreases with distance from a maximum to minimum range.
In future seasons, Treyarch and Raven will adjust weapons based on feedback to maximize the overall experience.
